I'm really struggling today. I'm going on holiday in a couple of days - this is a trigger for me after the attack. I promised my T that I could keep myself safe but I'm not sure I can. I phoned a helpline and they were useless - just wanted to talk about the details of the attack, not about what I was worried about. Then she asked if I'd helped anyone - I couldn't and this is a constant source of guilt for me so I hung up. Just wish this living hell would end.
Sorry from the rant

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like the helpline could have done a better job. Is the trip stressing you out? Do you need meds before you leave? Maybe you are trying to deal with feelings but it's overwhelming. It takes a little time. That's why l was suggesting doing something to quiet your thoughts and feel more grounded. There is NO shame in wanting to get better. We all strive for that. Please let go of shame, it has done nothing for you. Could we bring some white light of compassion and care to you, you are valid, you do need to have happiness, and you are worthy. We all make mistakes in life, but we just move on. I have made some stupid choices but l am going to love myself anyways. Hope you feel better.

Thank u aut555 for ur reply. Yeah the trip is stressing me out the attack happened when we were on holiday last year.im not on any regular meds although I do have some to relax me to get on the plane. Spoke to my T today and she wants me to see a psychiatrist . Not keen tbh

Thank u aut555 for ur reply. Yeah the trip is stressing me out the attack happened when we were on hol...

Ok, but that's for meds l bet. You may need meds to stablize, then you get off them. Think at one point in my life, l was stuck and couldn't move on. The pills help me deal with stuff!!!, then l was off them maybe a half a year later. Just to stablize you so you don't have intrusive thoughts anymore, then therapy can help you when you aren't stressed out. Hope this makes sense.
