Friday night I was doing drugs with my best friend. She must have done a little too much for her body to handle. She began violently convulsing, shaking. She was very hot, I could see the fear in her eyes. She asked me if she was going to die over and over again, she was so scared. while we were waiting for the ambulance to come she asked me to pray with her so I got on the floor and held her while we recited the lords prayer.

She is now in a vegetative state and will be taken off of life support soon. Doctors say there is no chance of her survival. Her family Is just desperate keeping her on life support. Anyway, the day after this all happened I began having EXTREME hallucinations. I saw men coming to attack me. they crawled in my windows and watched me from the corners of my room. I see my friend who over dosed, watching me, dancing, waving. I am constantly having panic attacks. I am so anxious. Do I have PTSD?

No - I can say that very confidently because the potential traumatic event occurred Friday. PTSD cannot be diagnosed until a month after the event, and the list of criteria is rather specific - PTSD doesn't happen to everyone who experiences a major trauma.

You could be dealing with acute stress disorder, which occurs between 2 days and one month following a trauma event. You could also be having substance or medication-induced psychotic disorder, or just substance-induced psychosis.

The best thing you can do for yourself is get in to see a qualified diagnostician, as soon as you can, and to begin therapy to deal with the after effects of what you experienced.

I'm so sorry.

I have heard that whether or not someone eventually develops PTSD can have a lot to do with what help they do or don't get immediately after the traumatic event. I suggest, as the others above did, that you reach out to a professional as soon as possible to get help with this. That would probably reduce the chance that you would get PTSD long term, though not totally eliminate the chance.
