@Esterio A brain scan can not show a concussion.... I just had one this week. Ther...
it has been along time since i had a concussion the last one was in the 1980's at that time i was given an X-ray to see if i had broken any thing. I was stitched up and sent on my way home to rest. That was all the care at the time.

In most cases, they can't do anything but the most severe of concussions. The brain is very delicate, and it's mostly better to leave the skull to heal on it's own than take the risk.

I'll repeat my suggestion you talk to a GP (general practitioner-family doctor, usually) about this and see if they have any suggestions. Feeling confused and muzzy headed could be caused by a lot of different things-some of them are pretty scary and others are things that are easily solved (like diet). It would be better to find out if it can be fixed and trying to get it fixed than continuing to suffer.

Sending you <3

Hi J'qel thanks for the post
My worse concussion was close to fatal motorcycle accident I was in and out for over thirty days and remember very little for months they did at the time all that they could I don't remember but basically after I was out of danger there was nothing more they could do as my GP told me after the fact. I'm trying to get all those records now so I will know what they did to me that was in 1976 that this happen so it can s a long time ago.
Peace be safe

I've had a couple bad ones, but nothing hospital quality. Ribs and skulls are two things they generally let heal on their own if they're not life threatening. It's just too close to want to start mucking around unless you absolutely have to. I expect there's a similar response with vertebrae near the neck. Some things, in medicine, you'd really rather not start fiddling around with, the side effects are far too dangerous.

It's not that doctors don't want to help, it's that it's much safer. I know how nervous folks can be and thinking that a doc won't help you is part of the package, but rest assured, they do care, and they *are* following procedure, not ignoring you or minimizing. <3

thanks for the post J'qel
I spent about 45 days in one hospital and then I went to my home town and almost bled out again and spent another 2 or 3 weeks. I don't remember much mostly what I was told by other at a later date. I know that they had to do something to elevate the swelling my Dad took a picture after seeing I asked them to get rid of it so I wouldn't see it again as far as i know they did as i never have seen it again. I didn't think that your skull could swell that much in that picture my head was at least twice its size. I had two drains in one was in my nose and one was in my neck. I almost bled out a few times. it was close as to fatal as I ever want to ever be again. That was the only one that I was admitted to hospital. 2 others I was stitched up and sent home to rest. 1 was at work and I was on light duty for several weeks. All of those made me sick enough to throw up. The 2 worse ones were within 6 or8 months of each other and change my life.
Peace be safe my friend ( I hope it is ok the identify you as a friend)

Yeah they will drain if you're serious, I'm glad to hear that you made it through :) Concussions are nasty business. I've only had two bad ones, but since all I got was the nausea, and temporary (minutes) of mild confusion (one of them seconds of unconsciousness), I didn't go in to get it checked, just took it easy for a few days and light the following week.

TBH I would have felt silly going in saying that I 1-didn't realize the stove hood was that low and 2-forgot about the window well. Yes, both were self inflicted, I'm short. I'm not used to bumping my head being an issue. :P

thanks for the post J'qel
My most serous concussion i was in and out of conscious for most of the time i don't really remember I know my sister was at my bed side for 2 weeks and i have no memory.
What I have learn since then is that you can suffer a concussion from a not to serous a blow it just needs to hit the wrong spot. If i hit my head now no matter how had it hurts. So I try not to hit my head at times i think i should aways were a helmet. i don't think you can get used to hitting your head and the best idea is to not do that. LOL
Peace be safe my friend

There are two specific domestic abuse head, eyes and spinal injuries that I too still regret and seriously so, not doing what you said quoted below. Acceptance and self-forgiveness can be challenging.
I regret not going to the hospital. I regret telling the police officer I was ok

I remember thinking this same way too and also believing from my whole being that I did not have any right to believe I had rights as a human being.
At the time I didn't care whether I lived or died

Many cognitive challenges from head injury can and do improve due to neuroplasticity and time. The cultivation of creative genius and biological compensation is additionally helpful and rewarding.

Wishing you well Lauren,
Sincerely, goingonhope

hi Lauren thanks for the post
The brain is a complicated organ. There is a lot that can go wrong. My brain has healed in some ways but seems to deteriorate. I'm hopeful for EMDR therapy to start in 2 days.
wishing you well also Lauren hope your day is going ok
Peace be Safe my Friend (if you don't mind me saying that)
