When we picked her up from the pound, she was the only one who couldn't be arsed to come right up to the kennel door. At first I didn't see her because she was black and the place was not well lit. When I called her over, she got up and took on this attitude like, I guess I'll bother myself to go say hello. And then instead of leaping up and down like all the other dogs, she just sat down all diginified-like and stared at me. I knew then that she would be my best friend.

Here is a full pic of my avatar dog. He wears a fluorescent vest because some of my neighbors think he is a wolf .. don't want him getting shot! He is also wearing his Mutt-Luks -- they keep his feet from freezing on days colder than -30 degrees. That is life in Montana on the border with Canada.

All around, some pretty good looking dogs in my opinion. Take that last one out of the pink outfit though.

question Tim, how heavy can GSD's get? saw one at the Human Society the last time I took Nala for her heartworm treatments, I guessed 130, owner said 120... I know there is a breed very similar to GSD's from the same region was wondering if it might be one of these... no mistaking it was at least mostly pure blood by the features...

I am trying to get the male GSD under 100 lbs.. . he is just tuning 11 years old and I want him to slim down. The big blood lines in GSDs were re-created by the late Tina Barber. They are called Shiloh Shepherds. The males in the Shiloh Shepherd blood lines can get as large as 175 lbs, and as tall a Great Danes.

Ok, I've finally gotten some pics of my dogs, past and present for ya'll.

The first one is my last Alaskan Malamute, Zeus with my first Border Terrier, Roscoe, They were great friends.

The next is of Spunky and Sophie behind him. Spunky was just like his name and was my best friend for 18 years.

Next is Sophie and then her with just a few Agility titles that my wife has earned with her. They're a great team. Believe it or not she may look small but had dispatched rabbits twice her size. Terriers are voratious towards their prey which is usually vermin. Sometimes cats that have mistakenly gotten in our yard, which is fenced. OOPS!

Then there's Sophie and Freddy.


And Then Freddy in the snow and with some titles that Chris has earned with him as well.


Love my dogs, they've always been there for me when I needed it. They have a 6th sense about it. They have all the qualities that I respect; loyalty, love, genuine concern and don't care who you are or what you look like. As always people could learn a lot from them.

JarHed -- Unfortunately you right in so many way when comparing people to dogs.

I found a pic of my latest two.

Fibi (as in the gorgeous witch Phoebe aka Alyssa Milano from the US series Charmed) is the smaller and aged 12.
Gimli (as in the Smelly thick headed Dwarf from Lord of the Ringsbecause he smells just as bad) is the bigger aged 8.
