Internet Is Shit Tonight

From Australia... the entire www is absolute crap. Getting sick and tired of this whole, www being overloaded nonsense currently going on due to the current IPv4 issues.

I'm on a verizon fiber optic cable that's suppose to be like the fastest ever. Sometimes I feel like while I'm waiting for something to load; I could rotate the tires on my truck, paint the garage, mow the lawn, take out the garbage and shave my beard off waiting.

I mean, how long can you wait for porn anyway. sometimes you just have to get started by yourself. :ROFLMAO:

Yer... I have super duper fast internet here also... 50Mbps down / 30Mbps up, but it's not your connection, nor mine. The actual internet is running out of IP addresses, which is the issue right now. IPv6 will fix all of this, but the issue is that a lot of the web doesn't support it yet, being computers scattered around the world. I think they could fix a lot of the issue by focusing purely on mobile connections, and defaulting all of those to IPv6 connections, and that would instantly free up IPv4 allocations.

Hey Anthony, thanks for that info I did not know that. Question; Do you think it would help me on my cell Jet pack if I turned off the IPv4 and went with only IPv6. I would think it would either work or not. But I don't want screw something up.

Thanks,

J R

For what it's worth all of the wireless carriers are moving rapidly to convert their entire network to IPV6 at this very moment.

ODG, it isn't going to work right quite yet. There is several machines within the MTSO like 9K routers and AAA servers that are only IPV4 at the moment.

So I guess I will stay with the IPv4 for awhile.......:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You know after I typed that I remember reading something the other day. Yours may work. I just tried mine and it is routing properly.

It will not solve your problems though.

Yup, what @Grizzly said... the issue is that as you travel with your mobile from tower to tower, it depends what part of the network is IPv6 and what is IPv4, basically it works like 4G to 3G automatically. Where you don't have high speed connection, it reverts to the lesser connection.

Until countries get their entire mobile networks switched over to IPv6, this will continue being an issue. Saying that, they will, for a long time anyway, still have IPv4 as a fallback, as you will have lots of older phones still connecting that don't necessarily have IPv6 capabilities. The majority of phone users though, are already using it where your ISP has it, automatically. You may also have country areas where they can't justify the cost... so they will remain on the IPv4.

ISP's, hosting companies, basically anyone that issues IP's to people, have all reigned them in severely, literally taken them away without notice if they aren't used IAW the policies for them. For example, this site has its own IP due to running SSL, as does MyPTSD. I then have the servers NS1 & NS2 IP's, so that is four. I had six, they took one away without telling me, they will take the other also, no doubt... and I will only get them back if I specifically plan to put a site on SSL and thus need the IP.
