For All You Pc Gamers Out There

I have cycles when it comes to gaming. Some days I can play all day non stop, others I can't play for more than a few minutes at a time. What kind of code do you write? I have only done a handful of coding (for school) and so far I have come to the conclusion that I am better with hardware than software.

C+, HTML, .PHP, JavaScript, perl, SQL of course KSH and .net. I work in networking and tele. I just do coding as needed and used to webdev.

@All y'all on Steam... Anyone know with the Machine coming out in Nov if that's gonna link into all the PC players on Steam or will have its own gamers pool? I know I could look it up. But every time I start to my eyes start glazing & nothing sinks in.

It is cross=platform on steam only. So yes, steam machines will work with PC games. However, I want to point out that a steam box only plays games.....and for what they cost you can go to Newegg and build a bigger, badder, faster gaming PC (that does other stuff besides gaming) for the same money.

Also, it is the Valve Corporation we are talking about here. They tend to be worse than Microsoft when it comes to pushing out buggy messes.

Why is I can write thousands of lines of code but lose interest in a game in about 10 minutes?

I steal my kid's rigs (and gamer tag) to play on Steam... But the avionics mechs banned me from even looking at the electronics... If that gives you an idea how inept I am with boards, & wires, & whazzits. I break shit just by being too close to it, much less glaring at it. Straight up mechanics I grok. All the ongoing work & fiddling needed with teeny tiny bits of... Lmao... Run! Run! Don't let her touch it! (I did not break it! I was nowhere near it!). If my kid wasn't around to explode his stuff and futz with it on a regular basis? I wouldn't even know what steam is ;)

I really need something that comes in a box. All put together and perfect and relatively unbreakable.

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of price range are you looking at? I have found a number of solutions that are less expensive or equal too the Steam Boxes and are available now.
