She is safe, no water got in the house, and she still has electricity, but no running water..... but she and her husband are safe...
It occurred to me today, going out for breakfast, how dependent smaller towns are for staples and gas from bigger cities... many gas stations this far west of all the chaos, are out of gas.... no deliveries until Thursday... I finally found a station and the price has gone up almost 50cents a gallon... bastards.....my car shows how many more miles I could go before I ran out of gas... I had 10 miles left.... and used half of that trying to find a station with gas !!!!!
There is no bread or water on the shelves , even at walmart, and many other things are in very short supply.... so many people loosing money not being able to work, or not having gas to get somewhere else ..... Most of the farmers and cattle ranchers have their own gas tanks they use for their farm equipment.... at least they can get the cattle to higher ground . My friend who is a locksmith, had a call in LaGrange, they had 50 ft of water in some places.... it was bad in that direction.... which is southeast from me, only about 15 miles....
Not a lot of traffic in town, no more than usual.... but did notice signs showing where evacuee shelters were here in town.... need to post this on FB, so some, if they can get out,and have the gas to get here , can get some help.... Lord, it's going to be a long long time before this is over....
