. . . when a person of the opposite sex who is at least 20 years younger than you comes on to you?
This has happened to me most recently on FB the other day when a much, much younger guy with whom I am not friends sent me a message saying, "Hello, pretty." I mean, sure, it's flattering when you're a 54-year-old woman, but there is no way I can respond. He's old enough to be my freaking son! And even if I weren't happily married, it would disconcert me. I also have it displayed on my profile page that I am married.
I've also had more age-appropriate guys show their interest, but that doesn't bother me as much. The vast majority of them are decent guys who seem to be happy to be just friends when I let them know in as polite and nonconfrontational way as possible that I am happily married. And we all generally just talk politics.
I know I could just replace my profile photo with something else, but after years of hiding I like to have that openness about me, because I just like to be honest about myself. Maybe I need to think on that some more. Idk.
Oh, and just to be clear, this is a simple head shot. I was wearing a black shirt with absolutely no cleavage showing. It was a photo a fellow artist took of me for portfolios.
