Tapping - eft (emotional freedom technique)

Emotional Freedom Technique. Yes, I have done a lot with it. It worked ok when I already had most of my symptoms under control, to get the rest under control and put me into a remission of sorts, but when my symptoms came back fully, not so much. I think it works well in addition to other therapies but not as a stand alone.

I was told to stop a few years ago, as I was tapping so hard during panic attacks that my Dr saw it as a form of self harm. Not sure if I agree. I still use the collar bone point for chest pain from anxiety. The woman in the video uses different points than what I was taught. With the collar bone point I was taught the point was two fingers up from the hollow at the center of your collar bone.
 
Yeah I have used it for years along with SUDS score to dislodge the emotion from the event. Works fabulously. Highly recommend it.
 
In my trauma-sensitive yoga group we had a session where we learned about tapping/EFT. Some of us have used it more than others. I've used it a couple times, and while it does usually reduce my anxiety or panic, it hasn't been able to just eliminate it when I do it. It can help me calm down if I'm angry.

I haven't used it during panic attacks, or during a lot of situations, simply because I didn't even remember to use it.
 
Yes, and I absolutely hated it. I've been slapped and hit too many times as a kid to tolerate the tap. It's a very severe trigger for me. Much prefer Brain spotting CD by David Grand, twice a day, about twelve hours apart, using stereo headphones. I can feel it work.
 
They won't let me post the link for the info on it, so google "What is brainspotting?" and you should get to David Grand's site that explains how it works. It gets right to the physical heart of the matter without making you remember the bad stuff like with EMDR or getting triggered with the tapping like EFT.
I bought my CD set (I only like the first CD so I haven't used the second one) on Amazon, but I see Walmart carries it as well. Let me know if you try it and what you think of it. Thanks!
 
I wanted to add as well that I was completely unable to tap on myself for a good few years. The shit inside of me was just too awful. My shaman kept encouraging me to do it in between sessions but I just ... couldn't(?). I can do it now without even tapping - but instead visualizing myself tapping. So yeah, I just thought of that after reading @Victory 's posting. Thought I would give you a heads up.
