I’ve cone across that theory, and I can see it’s point if for example someone has had multiple traumas - the theory is that one trauma can be processed in a way that they represent the whole of their traumatic experience. I’ve also come across solutions focussed therapy, which is very future focussed but I don’t think it works well for trauma.
Actually speaking about the trauma stuff isn’t too hard now - there’s very little I’ve not shared. It’s understanding the impact on me, talking about my self concept etc and trying to challenge and change that which is proving difficult. I know part of the struggle just comes with the territory given the depth of work but it’s very hard going.
We’re working on intimacy, vulnerability and how I do (or more accurately Dont) value myself - my T knows me very well and is pushing quite hard, which is honestly fine, it’s how we’ve always worked - but it’s very painful stuff.
