I know that I mentioned my dragon earlier in this post, who protects my younger self from many things.... I just realized that the week after my T left on vacation, the same day that I realized that my abandonment fears were related to the deaths of key comforters in my life, I happened upon a butterfly. This butterfly and I connected for quite a long time. I just looked up “butterfly spirit animal” and it signifies resurrection.
How cool is that? The way I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. I felt it pulling me in and it brought me a feeling of joy and self reliance. I knew in death there is continuation.

Thanks for the thread. :)
Thank you for sharing.

Can a person's spirit animal be one that just suddenly appeared one day?
Yes absolutely, we have many guides through life, some closer than others. It can be temporary as lasting and there are countless opportunities to reflect why a Spirit animal visits, calls your attention or ask you to follow it.

Like I replied @cherileisman you can start observing any animal that visits you in life. Pay attention, search answers within and see if there is a deeper connection, for it could be your Spirit animal. Good luck. :notworthy::):inlove:

Mine goes with me wherever I go but he is NOT a spirit animal because I am missing one trait.
T...
No offense taken, I'm fine with your lack of interest and opinions around the spiritual.
As I wrote in the thread: "This post is however not meant to seek any knowledge, healing or comfort in the spiritual search of deeper belonging. It is purely an input about power animals for those who already have awareness as experience of the spiritual and wish to find others with the same beliefs and questions which then could be helpful in a healing process."

I don't know if this counts, but I have had butterflies be attracted to me, sit on my hand for minutes and look me in the eye, things like that. I always feel they are the Holy Spirit gracing my life when I see them flutter by so closely and I have a great affinity for them!

Before I went googling the fox sighting yesterday, all I was that Aries was my sign and not too much of what that meant. A Celtic zodiac! Who knew? I found it all very interesting and the way fire element, sun, Mars connects up.
In the Native American zodiac I align with red-tail hawk. I think that fox showed itself to me, I honestly do.

If you feel that the connection brings you spiritual insight and allows you to have an inner conversation with the unknown it might very well be one or the totem for you.

It's just about searching before you find right, It's also about soul groups.
My personal spiritual journey brought me to two different cultures, maybe meant to during this life time or from another life. The jaguar is however known in most parts of the world as an ultimate totem for warriors as in some central American cultures and well respected in South America. Yet my spiritual belonging is with Zen Buddhism and ancient Japan. My searching started in my early teen age, about twenty years later I met another one with the Jaguar totem that initiated me on a spiritual journey and 14 years later from that I finally met the one meant to also in the Jaguar family.
It's been a long road with lot of failures, pain and hard lessons, but in the end I 'm happy to have found my belonging at age of 40+

As I wrote...

Your position is that of the southern baptists who hate gays, at least in its design. Don’t hate gays? You’re not a Christian. Don’t have a spirit animal that has ALL the right traits? It’s not a spirit animal. In this sense the “spiritual” are no different than the religious.

I have no idea who died and made you anauthoritarian on spirit animals anyway. I think you’re wrong.

Your position...
I'm not sure I understand your reasoning.
Are you angry that I found my way in Spirit and after decades of experience happen to know more than the average? Then know that it's not a competition, rather a lifestyle if you have chosen to follow your call. Furthermore you can bother about this elsewhere. I 'm mostly tired of sleep deprivation and lack interest in mouth-jutsu. Peace.
