Promoting Growth Through Healing?

I doubt it.
Twice, my introduction posts have been rudely deleted.

My purpose in comparing our collective experiences, which is purely personal, is to help change the inaccurate diagnostic code as it stands now, to prevent a life time of suffering in those who already suffer from ptsd, a stress injury. Those of us who actually have ptsd know for a fact we are not mentally ill. Isolation perpetuates the problem of ptsd. I was hoping to find other people who shared similar experiences with ptsd and the effects it has on our lives. It's painfully obvious to me that the PTSD forum is not interested in helping survivors of trauma but instead are interested in financial gain. It's not only sad, but appalling, that the PTSD Forum is not interested in ending the stigma of ptsd as a mental illness. I pity the members who have been silenced by your attempts to control our environment. The ptsd forum will be publicly condemned by me for attempting to profit off a 100% disabled vet and his family who suffers from ptsd. It's people like you who cause secondary wounding in the survivors of traumatic stress, adding more insult to ptsd injury. Secondary wounding experiences are MORE painful than the original trauma because at the time, we do not have the benefit of stress hormones to numb our response. I'm grateful that I have not, nor will not, profit off the suffering of other human beings. I will not be associated with a site who prevents freedom of speech, and is guilty of censoring another human being who has already suffered more human cruelty and neglect than anyone deserves. I have faith that you will reap what you sow. That is the beauty of America. My husband fought, and in his words, died, for the freedoms we enjoy today. America was founded on the principals of a united nation standing up for their beliefs. Since this is the second time you have invalidated my suffering in the Aftermath of War, I intend to publicly speak out against the practices of the PTSD Forum. Your actions will be judged by the citizens of this great nation. I have faith they will be just as applauded as I am of your attempt to censor trauma survivors and limit our Constitutional Rights to Freedom of Speech. Proudly Chris Woolnough author and poet.

From the best that I can tell, you've had only one introduction deleted, not two. The reason being you were asking for interviews which has a very specific protocol within this forum. I know you were also directed toward the information for this protocol. This forum is completely free of charge to people who come here seeking/offering support on their personal healing journey. The forum members are not, however, research subjects to be used at the whim of anyone who chooses. You are a self-proclaimed author who is seeking interviews and answers to your research questions. For this there are proper procedures in place that must be followed.

I am not a researcher here to use people on a whim.My posts clearly stated both times that I am the wife of a ptsd veteran, and myself and our two adult children also suffer from ptsd. Asking questions is how we learn and grow. As far as I can tell, comparing personal experiences with ptsd is a free service. One which I certainly will not pay for. My topic was called "An Introduction, in need of support." I think the first one was titled An introduction, some questions, and a poem. My poems which I author, and also shared, to have deleted, twice, are very personal to me. I do not profit from sharing them either. It was two deleted posts, by your own admission.I have your e mail to prove it. 1+1=2. I did not even have a copy of my first set of questions, and sadly, my memory is affected by ptsd. Demanding twenty five bucks a month to compare personal experiences with ptsd. I'm not nuts, but someone here sure is.

Your thread was not deleted, it was closed, and can still be viewed.

and Anthony stated his reasons for closing the thread and directed you to the 'Students, Professionals & Researchers' area

[DLMURL]http://www.ptsdforum.org/threads/15512-Students-Professionals-amp-Researchers[/DLMURL]

I have searched and searched but I can't find your apparent 'second' deleted thread anywhere, only this one.

As catjudo has said, we are not research guinea pigs, which is why Anthony has set up such a facility for researchers to approach members. Members can then choose whether they want to participate in any such study, knowing exactly what the study is for and knowing it is legit.

When you asked all your questions in your now 'closed' thread, it sounded like you were looking for help and insight, not researching, which you have now stated you are doing. I'm very glad that I didn't take the time to answer all those questions, because I had no idea my answers were to be used in your 'research'.

You are free to contribute here as a member, in the same way as any other member, once you are approved by the admins.

As for freedom of speech, can I remind you that when you signed up here, you agreed to the rules, which have developed over time for the good of our community. 'We' are not an American community, we are global, and proud to be so, and as such we have our own set of rules. I seriously doubt whether you 'bad-mouthing' and condeming PTSDForum will make much difference to those of us who have found PTSDforum unique, helpful, supportive and educational.

I wish you well in your healing journey,
CB

If you have any concern with a situation in your life at this moment, you will get answers. For more general briefing of the situation for people or their opinions search the forum, most of these questions have been discussed back and forth. I must say your list of questions makes me think more of a survey then of chairing experiences in a forum.

If researchers promote their surveys here, Anthony asks for a donation in return.
You can read about it here

Combatptsd1967, you have contradicted yourself by saying you want to
compare personal experiences with ptsd
and
to help change the inaccurate diagnostic code as it stands now, to prevent a life time of suffering in those who already suffer from ptsd
I'd like to know where you stand, are you just trying to compare experiences or are you trying to use our answers to launch a campaign to change the diagnostic criteria?

Also, Adam, you are correct about this site being based in Australia, since that is where the site owner Anthony lives.

It's painfully obvious to me that the PTSD forum is not interested in helping survivors of trauma but instead are interested in financial gain.

That's funny  Perhaps if you stop with the accusations against people you don't even know, and table your misplaced sense of entitlement, you can calm down enough to truly observe, read, and listen...and you can learn, grow, and find much support here...absolutely free.

Well, I only read the one post with the poem and, at the risk of having other forum members disagree with me, didn't sound like you were an academic researcher or medical researcher. Sounded to me like you really just wanted to know the answers to those questions.

Sorry this has turned ugly.

Tlight, that was exactly how I read the first post too, but for me it was too many questions to answer, and since then, in this post, combatptsd1976 has contradicted herself by saying
My purpose in comparing our collective experiences, which is purely personal, is to help change the inaccurate diagnostic code as it stands now, to prevent a life time of suffering in those who already suffer from ptsd, a stress injury.

I'm confused!! I don't like the arguements that go on here sometimes, but sometimes these discussions are necessary to get to the route of the issue. But we can't all, always get along, that's life!
