That was one of many. They actually changed the laws here quickly after the panick buying so that stores no longer had to offer refunds for change of mind, to ensure that hoarders were stuck with their crap. Just golden. I do love this country and just how swift we can achieve things to ensure dickheads endure maximum pain. That way all countries should solve their dickhead crisis.

Orange County has seemed to reach it's peak in cases and numbers are seeming to go down. But the county says now is the time to double down on efforts so we can get to the finish line.

There was a very Canadian grocery store robbery, as only we can do it.

The employees of a grocery store somehow forgot to lock up for the night, and left the front wide open, the lights on, and the music playing. People started coming in first thing in the morning, not realizing there was a problem. They just thought the store was a bit emptier than usual. People filled their carts/baskets with their necessities and went to pay, but the tills were all closed. It was only then that people realized there was not a single employee in the entire store. Some people called 911 to report that the store was sans employees and patiently waited with their carts to make their purchases, other people did steal the groceries and leave.... but not before first BAGGING THE GROCERIES, and returning the carts to the line!!!!! And there was no hoarding!!!! :hilarious: :roflmao: Oh Canada!

There are multiple theories about a civil war coming

When Obama was President I read an article about some poll that said quite a substantial section of the American public thought there was going to be a Civil War because he was President. It does seem to be a theme that resurrects itself quite regularly. On Planet America they went through the stats a few episodes back and apparently more people thought there would be a Civil War under Obama than there are under Trump.

I have been watching the Chinese News in English and another "whistleblower" who reported in English on their show last week has disappeared. It's really interesting to see how certain folks are trying to get information out to the rest of the world. And he would have know before he did the interview in English that prospects weren't bright for him.

The Uighers or Uyghurs are a population of about a milion people surrounded barbed wire fencing by high surveillance and I read that when Covid19 was spreading they sent the Chinese workers home and brought in the Uighers in, so did they deep clean those factories before those folks arrived? Where they infected? Did they get sent back? There's an article here and there but if anyone else knows how they are faring I would be curious to know. I felt alarmed to read they were being sent in to replace other Chinese workers.

I wish we understood more of the Science of Covid19.

What I found chilling whilst watching the documentary "Special Report: Coronavirus - Into The Red Zone" was that when they took off the PPEs, despite not touching anything there was concern that there could be particles that attached themselves to their PPEs. Holy cow if that is true then the outcomes for those sharing gowns and so forth are grim.

I wrote a detailed document for folks across the communities, networks, and groups I belong to to give out accurate information and I found a stack of resources for elderly, disabled, immune compromised, transplants, homeless, et al. so we can co-rordinate - I can't do anything on the ground - but I can do a small bit of logistics, and now that is done there's nothing more for me to do other than not leave home at all.

Yes, the assumption with any isolation precaution is that your PPE is contaminated, whether or not you touched anything, and this is why you don't touch the outside of any of the PPE when you are doffing. So gowns are taken off by turning them inside out, same with gloves. Goggles and masks are taken off only by touching the bands, never the front. And your hands are washed/sanitized in between removing each piece of PPE, and after doffing is complete. Each piece of PPE is also removed in a particular order, to further avoid contaminating yourself when doffing.

Droplets and aerosols travel a distance through the air, and don't require you to directly touch a virus contaminated surface/patient and then yourself in order to contaminate you/your PPE, you just end up in the airborne "wake". This is how you contract illness like influenza, measles, tuberculosis, etc. even if you practice hand hygiene and don't touch your face, etc. This is also why non-medical and surgical masks can help decrease the exhaled and aerosolized viral wake of an infected person and why you are supposed to sneeze/cough into your arm.

I am only trying to do quarantine at home. I don't know how you all do it. I would be so hopeless at it. I think everyone is just amazing.

The thing is that sharing gowns is then dangerous and you would be better off if you took your own clothes that you can take off and put on and clean yourself. We don't have enough PPEs in some areas in Australia and amongst medico friends it is causing great angst. One quit because he's not sending in staff into those situations. I am fascinated by the Science of it all, but when I see how photos of all those brave people doing the very best they can, and hear that 1 person is dying in New York every 2 minutes I have to go outside and sit in the sun. I am so lucky to be able to do that. My God! All those poor people.

And all anyone has to do is stay home. That seems to be so much for some people. I don't understand. It's what is ethical. It's what is moral. It's assisting the medical staff and their support staff. It's so incredibly selfish and self centred. It beggars belief.
