Retrauma and bad experiences help

I must add that really I am not safe now, I constantly feel threatened, animal terror, even at home. And this threat I began to feel after retraumatization, after trying to work through traumas related to my mother. Now I am terrified of my mother, because all my years she had keys to my apartment and would come whenever she wanted...

I am constantly afraid at home that she will come with her brother and take me somewhere by force. I know the law now, and I can call the police, but I still live in fear every day. And with this fear, I think no defense will open to injury. I'm on adrenaline all the time.
@Rudolf - it's good to remind yourself that you can call the police, if your mother or brother come and threaten you physically.

When you say you are not safe now - do you mean that you are in danger of hurting yourself, physically?

I want to re-register my apartment to myself, to change the lock, from which she has the key.
I would also like to move in, but unfortunately I can't do it now, as I am very poorly conditioned, and in general I am very underdeveloped in terms of independence
build security and then think about injuries, because right now I'm obviously living in a constant state of terror, anxiety, and depression. Afraid of doors, bells, phones, etc
These all sound like great goals. Any that you can start working on, now?

Rudolf I think you have a good inner compass, a good sense of what you need to do, build safety. joeylittle and Friday are pointing you the right way to
do the things large or small you can do now, practical things like making your apartment safer, things you and others have mentioned.

I do not know what choices you have for a therapist but I am guessing that much of your trauma happened when you were very young, maybe before you
could talk. When trauma happens at this pre=verbal level it is occuring on the level of body sensations/emotions. If you can it would be good to see if
you can find a therapist who is experience at working with individuals who have experienced trauma at a pre-verbal level. Some of the body based therapies are
helpful here, like sensorimotor therapy. This does not mean they are touching your body(they are not) but they are working with the body sensations and muscle actions that hold the trauma physically and finding body based ways of releasing that.

But first keep building safety with practical things to do, they don 't have to be big things, just things that make a difference for your safety.

No, I don't physically hurt myself.
I meant that I sometimes feel in danger of my mother and brother suddenly invading my life again, as before.

Now my goal is to find a new therapist, I don't know which one yet, but it's obviously not EMDR. Or cognitive behavioral psychotherapy or something else, I don't know exactly, I'm confused. But I'm avoiding finding a new doctor right now, even though I know I need to move on, I'm even avoiding going to the for
um, only with phenazepam I can read posts as I'm very negative, and in pain.

s for the pre verbal traumas, most likely they are there because the family is dysfunctional, and most likely there were battles between the mother and the father, or something else. But I will say one thing, even from a very early age I already felt toxic shame, and at the slightest physical altercation the ground was falling out from under my feet, this was before school. Maybe it was an experience where my father and mother when I was 2-3 years old, in the middle of the night lying next to me, would jump up and get into a very loud scolding and scuffle, I didn't understand what was going on I thought it was war. But apparently this is one of the earliest traumas. I asked a lot of doctors about pre verbal trauma, they said it's impossible to get to it, it's very difficult, and memory is not there to remember. I don't know about sensorimotor psychotherapy, because I can't feel anything, I'm estranged from my body, maybe it won't help me because I'm completely anesthetized. My plans are to start looking for a therapist again, probably just a cognitive therapist, to be safe, and then I don't know. Anyway, the first thing I need to do is find a doctor. By the way, I live in a town with a small population, and have been studying with a doctor on Skype. For sensorimotor therapy do you need a personal appointment? Or is it also possible on Skype? Oh guys, how I want to go back to the living world, how I want to be alive again, to feel the smells and tastes, the sun and rain, thunder and wind, morning and evening, autumn and spring, winter and summer, the touch of clothes on my skin. Eh, how hard it is to live dead.

As far as pre-verbal traumas, there's something awful there, my mother told me that when I learned to walk, at an early age, something scared me so badly that my legs failed, and I started peeing and screaming at night from that time on. But maybe it was just the conflict between my father and mother, when I was asleep, and I woke up to their arguments. Or maybe it was something else.

I've noticed that I'm now avoiding finding a therapist, apparently I avoid facing pain, or maybe I'm afraid to die. Judging from past experiences with therapy. Or maybe I just don't have the energy.

Rudolf, I do think that sensorimotor therapy with an experienced trauma therapist might be useful for you. Its ok that you do not feel anything, learning to
tune in to your body and feelings when the timing is right for that is what a good body based therapist can help you with. Sometimes we have to build up
some psychological and physical momentum and energy in life before we can take on a big step. Its ok to see we need to take a step like find a doctor and
therapist, but maybe are not quite ready to do that now. We do not have to drop the whole issue but can work on getting ready. What if you allow yourself
to not be ready for finding a therapist now, but can let yourself be in a getting ready stage. For example one way you might get ready is to look into sensorimotor therapy and learn about it. There is a website, www.sensorimotorpsychotherapy.org that has some introductory articles about it and has a therapist directory
of therapists around the world who do this therapy and their level of training. The therapists themselves give a little blurb about themselves. Almost all of them do
phone or online therapy so where you are in the world should not matter if you can skype or zoom or face time, etc. So continue to build safety in practical ways and if you can, see yourself as getting ready to find a therapist. It costs nothing to look at the website, and you are not committing to anything.

All the best, keep stepping up for yourself when you can.

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate the help now as I am lost. And hopefully in time I will get out of the woods. Right now I am avoiding finding a therapist, probably not enough strength, or avoiding for lack of inner resources. I looked at the website you posted, unfortunately there are no Russian speaking therapists there (and I only speak Russian). I will try to google search for sensorimotor therapist in Russian-speaking countries. Thanks again for your help. I had to take phenazepam today, that, to stop procrastination and go to the forum, and then start looking for a psychotherapist. I don't even know if there are such therapists in my country or not.
My procrastination is off the charts now, I can't do anything, elementary things, down to cooking and cleaning the house. Phenazepam takes away the procrastination. But I don't drink benzodiazepines often because of the possibility of addiction.

everyone suggests I go to trauma, but I think it's doom, I think I need to grow myself cognitively somehow.

This sounds like a really good goal. Looking forward to hearing updates about your progress with finding a therapist. Have you considered starting a diary to notice your progress and seek ongoing support?

Hi Guys, still looking for a therapist, found several trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy specialists, and 1 other woman responded, she is a gestalt therapist and has been treated herself, now does shamanic practices and theta healing. Tell me what anyone thinks? if i have traditionally been unable to help, can theta haling help me? or shamanic practices? has anyone here come across this?

I have a friend with a similar childhood experience as me (preverbal sexual trauma by the dad) who did talk therapy for 20 years without progress. She did shamanic after that. What helped her most recently was a therapist who uses psychedelics (she had never done drugs before). The therapist is part of a global research program called MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies). I’m so proud of her for finding a modality that works for her. I use talk therapy and it works for me and she is proud of me.

I encourage you to seek therapies that feel right to you. It doesn’t have to be perfect. The relationship is most important. Even if it doesn’t work out your body and mind and heart will likely learn something from the experience.

Thank you for writing that you had heard of it. So I'm going to try working out with this girl after all. It might help me.
Since I'm being retraumatized by classical treatment (EMDR, and other trauma immersions), I'll try nonclassical treatment for now. Either way, I can always go back to trauma-focused Kpt.

Yes. You are going in that direction. You are very brave to keep going.
