Your welcome... I am now launching video tutorials in the help forum... right down the bottom of the forum homepage.
I'll be on the look out for the videos. I haven't had a chance to search the website, so are there some articles you would recommend?

Thank you Anni for your welcome! Your suggestions to help myself with the mantra is one I forgot. Mine was "This too shall pass" My counselor also gave me a nickname to say "FUF" when I would get triggered, but it didn't work yesterday. The triggers complicate my bipolar and anxiety disorders, so some days is more tricky than others. I will definitely keep coming to this forum. I've been looking for one that reaches out to me as i do to them. I will check out Anthony's articles because I could use the education. I just get so angry afterwards when it happens, because I know my ex has moved on, or at least isn't suffering the way I am. (Although that is a hunch). Anyway, I must get ready for work. I hope you have a wonderful day and we get to talk again. And your oldest tool doesn't sound silly at all! Hugs, Pink

Hee- I never know when I mention that one if someone will think um..... ok..... :) It sounds so silly, if one hasn't had to DO this sort of thing. You have so you just KNOW.

Yes, it's an awfully interactive forum- nice that way. I hope your day is a little better because of it- mine always is, at any rate. Hugs to you, too. :)

Hi Annie,

Yesterday was a better day. Today I'm kind of bouncing off the walls, and trying to calm myself down. I now fear :eek:taking my naps because I wake up in full blown panic attacks, sick to my stomach, sometimes covered with sweat, and ready to run (flight mechanism). I try to get dressed and do some kind of exercise to get through it.

I just wish I would remember the mantra when the trigger would happen:(. But I'll get there like last time. I'm talking more about my most recent relationship that caused the PTSD, and I don't know if that's a good or bad thing (making things more prevalent to my mind so I get triggered easier - have you heard anything about that type of connection?).

Thanks for writing back. I'm enjoying making connections. It is helping not feeling alone. Just knowing this forum is here helps! :D

Many hugs, Pink

All of them in the article section.... whilst one topic may not be pertinent to you, it may contain a specific aspect that is pertinent to all.
Thanks Anthony, I've got some time this weekend that I'll check them out. Have a great week! Pink

Oh, I think it depends on where one is with healing, exposure, and things? Something which once would be a genuine trigger, throwing someone into a complete anxiety attack or other manifestation will eventually be *just* possibly a stressor, and hopefully not even that in the end. Of course if the PTSD event is what is playing in your head, you're just plain on some level of higher than normal alert, you know? Depending on how severely you're affected by what, things can go down the tubes quickly, I know. Like you said, you'll get there, but I know it's just not always as easy as writing it here.

Funny, I was just thinking today about how much I used to hate mornings because it took forever to get myself 'in order' for the day. It's still somewhat disorienting after all these years and I can wake up paniced and fearful but it's no long sort of terrifying just being awake in one more day, if you know what I mean.

I actually think you write as if you're processing things terribly well. I do not, and for instance on days like today when there's other stress just do not manage to focus well-much less spell! Which means I'll stop here. :)

Hugs to you too! :)

The weird thing is that the triggers are all "household items": shower curtain, bed rest, rubbermaid container, soup bowls, etc. Things I wouldn't expect to trigger me, but things that my ex and I agreed on in the divorce, which he denied me when I came to get my things out of the condo. In fact, he denied me into our home - I hadn't signed the deed over to him alone yet. Now that I'm cooking more, and doing projects in my place, I keep remembering things I bought for myself to use in the kitchen, or for guests, or to spruce up the house and that is what is setting me off. I've been out of our condo for almost 4 years now, and I've been getting triggered now by things from the condo lately. Maybe the entertaining I'm doing. I've had to start from scratch again in building up my "kitchen" to where it functions for me and how I cook/bake/entertain. And where I work sells all those kinds of houseware stuff! I hope my grandmothers are watching over me keeping me strong!;)

Some times in the late mornings I freeze in my computer chair. Can't move, don't want to leave the chair! I feel full of fear! Agoraphobia I have suffered from, but it has gotten worse since I've been separated (2007). Fortunately, I will have something planned so I have to leave the house. those times scare me, too. I don't like the feeling of being paralyzed by fear when there is nothing to fear or you don't know what you're afraid of to begin with. Is this what happens to you?

In reference to me processing things terribly well, thanks for the compliment. I do journal a lot, and read a lot on topics that concern my health as well as friends/family.

Sorry to hear you had a stressful day!
Many hugs,
Pink
