Analogy: My Ptsd Feels Like...

feels like someone has an spinner controlling my emotional reactions and another person is in charge of the volume control of them and neither person is talking to each other... or me!

Feels like a greasy black ominous thorn bush tearing at and covering the light in my mind. Just when I think I'm healing again another thorn tears at the very essence of me.

Feel like a confused, mindless freak that can't communicate with others that "look" like them. Communicates well with things "other" than their species, yet not sure of the answers received.

The only thing that seems to understand me are living plants and the dirt they grow in.

I'm am constantly looking for myself, i feel like an alien in my own body....

I discussed this with my psych recently & understand that i wont go back to the person i was. but finding it hard to deal with the person i am now.

ptsd also feels like...
being a kitten who's hanging from a cold metal ceiling by magnets taped to her paws; terrified, out of place, confused, alone, powerless and overwhelmed by an upside-down world.

. . . like I stumbled through a doorway into the original Twilight Zone. Now everything is shown in shades of black, white and grey, the past and future collide with the present in unpredictable patterns, and their point about human nature will probably be made at my expense in the end.
