Some time ago I made a little box for my husband with 100 little cards in it, and on every card I wrote one thing that I love about him. It was very easy for me to make a list of items to put on these cards. During my first 'sitting' I wrote down 58 items (I just wrote, one after the other, no pauses), during the next I wrote the missing 42, and after that I could have written down another 50 or even 100 things, no problem.
My husband of course suspected that I wanted him to do the same for me *rolls eyes* and then said that he'd rather I make a box for myself. I hate the idea, but he's right.
Of course I don't love anything about me. But I could actually come up with some things I like about myself. I wrote them down in my Big Black Book of Bullsh*t which I use to work on my Complex Trauma.
And then I thought, why should I be the only one having to agonise about thinking positive things about themself? That's how evil I am.
The idea is that everybody who wants to participate in this thread starts their own counted list of things they like about themselfs (or, if like is too strong a word still: things they don't absolutely dislike about themselfs / things they can kind of stand about themselfs / things about themselfs that they hate a little less than everything else / ...).
Whenever you find another item for your list, put it in a new post with a number, voilà. If you want to, you can also explain why you like this particular thing; you know, brag a bit :D
The first person to complete their list wins a pretty pony or a robot with lasers. I will draw them. A pony with lasers is also possible. Or a pretty robot.
100 Things I Like About Myself
01. My hair (it's shiny and getting darker)
02. The colour of my eyes (almost black)
03. My lashes (long)
04. That I'm so flexible (splits)
05. That I don't partake in in-group sh*t that conflicts with my personal taste or ethics.
06. That I am attracted to all things 'different' and 'strange', instead of scared of them.
07. My intelligence - at least when I believe that I posess some.
08. That my English is rather fluent (I reached this point without teachers and through intrinsic motivation alone)
09. That I can express myself so well in different media (words, pictures, movement)
10. That I am slowly learning to say No in an assertive, decisive way.
11. That I have started to work on my issues again.
And that's how far I got in a month or so.
