The Extreme Flashback Headache... Do You Get It Too?

Maddog that is exactly how I feel I just want peace, I hate public transport, I hate places where the are lots of people.

It's getting that bad that the one place I use to go as I felt safe(I know everyone) I'm starting to find hard work. Some of their voices go right through me and I just want to scream. I have 3 children who I love dearly but when they are all on one I have to hide or I think I might go mad with it.

Oh, public transport, I couldn't even bring myself to mention that one... I rely on it to get everywhere, don't drive, don't have any independent private transport assistance , need to travel right into the city every day for work etc, and coping with it right now is almost intolerable. It's hard to find a safe quietplace anywhere thesedays it seems.

I don't drive either but I've taken to asking my mum if she minds taking me somewhere or i get a taxi. It is more expensive but it's peaceful and to me that's worth it's weight in gold.

I will use a bus if my husband is there but that's getting less and less as I just can't cope with it, and if people cough or sneeze I get so jumpy and paranoid, I just want to get off the bus there and than.

This is all very stressful and I get extreme headaches, so if I can get out of going I will and stay home.:(

I do get this headache and I hate it. There aren't any meds that alleviate it, you just have to suck it up until it passes. I also frequently become very ill. My therapist and I found this pattern a few years back. It typically follows a new memory. I spend a few days in flashback hell. The headache hits, then I feel flu-ish. I run fever, and am bombarded with what we think are "body memories". It lasts several days and can take me up to two weeks to fully recover. It is not a frequent
event, but it sure sucks when it does happen. Anyone else have that experience, or is this another bizarre thing that only affects me?

hahha, it helps if I hit post, doesn't it?! LOL.

Hi. First post.

I'm familiar with this. I get a headache in my forehead when some memory is trying to surface when I'm in the middle of a "milder" flashback. It's connected to a thought "I don't want to see that" or "I can't handle that" and I also get an image a curtain of sorts covering my visual field. Before I got that symptom in May I did have visual images and strong feelings and body memories connected to that but it was too much for me at the time to handle.

Stephkim4, I've had body memories that cause me so much stress that I developed a persistant heartburn. So it does affect others too.
