Bethany Dillon- Aimless

The curtain falls, down she goes
So long worth
All the applause seems beautiful
It's got a hold on her
She whispers, "I'll go home"
And then she's reminded
That she doesn't know where that is

Thought she belonged
But she knows she don't
Thought she had love
But it is not enough
The pain inside is speaking to her
How could she feel like this
So aimless

His glass falls
Breaks into a thousand pieces
Spilling out all he's tried to hide
"I only wanted to be strong, to be brave
But it's driven everyone away"

Thought he belonged
But he knows he don't
Thought he had love
But it is not enough
The pain inside is speaking to him
How could he feel like this
So aimless

I've been him, and I've been her
Covered up under the dirt
I want to get out
I want to be free
And know where I'm going

Thought I belonged
But I know I don't
Thought I had love
But it is not enough
An aching inside speaking to me
How could I feel like this
So aimless

They've always known this wasn't home
I've always known this wasn't home

I hate being able to relate to songs sometimes.. This is one of those times...

KORN (backwards R) Narcissistic Cannibal.

Everything's wrong every time
Pushing on I can't escape
Everything that comes my way Is haunting me taking its sweet time?

Don't wanna be rude but I have to
Nothing's good about the hell you put me through
ALL American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret.

I can't stand any of that song!

Atmosphere - Painting
ain't no color paint gonna cover the stains
the pictures on the wall will all remain
and even though he's home now, sound and safe
surrounded by the faces that he places faith
the images visit from the past he witnessed
cant stay away from the memories,
sticks with each detail, embedded in stone
like he chisels those convictions into his bones
the progress stops and pauses,
spits and sputters like the basement faucet
and its obvious hes lost in his regrets,
you can smell it on his breath

ain't no color paint gonna cover the stains
but now the alcohol is gonna mother the pain
tuck it away, no complaints,
just layin on his back on his backyard, under the rain
take tomorrow, but doesn't know how though
for ever swallow, there's another to follow
he weaves his way throughout the story
looking for a new missing piece or a door key
spirits used to be for celebration,
but now they just take him away from the hell thats waitin'
re-up until its three sheets up,
and pick a place for the skeletons to meet up

aint no color paint gonna cover the stains
but if the oxygen escapes, it'll smother the flames
no introduction, doesn't speak his own name
gonna beat them demons at they own game
the sunset rides to the end slopes
same song echoing outside of the window
you cant grow if the skin don't fit you
sometimes you gotta get low just to get through
no inspiration left to do your best when
nobody hates you more than your reflection
suffer the shame until it stuffs the drain
he's got two hands and a bucket of paint

Chris Rhea - Road To Hell

Stood still on a highway
I saw a woman
By the side of the road
With a face that I knew like my own
Reflected in my window
Well she walked up to my quarterlight
And she bent down real slow
A fearful pressure paralysed me
In my shadow

She said "Son, what are you doing here?
My fear for you has turned me in my grave"
I said "Mama, I come to the valley of the rich
Myself to sell"
She said "Son, this is the road to Hell"

On your journey 'cross the wilderness
From the desert to the well
You have strayed upon the motorway to Hell

Well I'm standing by a river
But the water doesn't flow
It boils with every poison you can think of
And I'm underneath the streetlights
But the light of joy I know
Scared beyond belief way down in the shadows
And the perverted fear of violence
Chokes a smile on every face
And common sense is ringing out the bells
This ain't no technological breakdown
Oh no, this is the road to Hell

And all the roads jam up with credit
And there's nothing you can do
It's all just bits of paper
Flying away from you
Look out world take a good look
What comes down here
You must learn this lesson fast
And learn it well
This ain't no upwardly mobile freeway
Oh no, this is the road to Hell

Tell me there's a Heaven - Chris Rea

The little girl she said to me
What are these things that I can see
Each night when I come home from school
And mama calls me in for tea
Oh every night a baby dies
And every night a mama cries
What makes those men do what they do
To make that person black and blue
Grandpa says their happy now
They sit with God in paradise
With angels' wings and still somehow
It makes me feel like ice
Tell me there's a heaven
Tell me that it's true
Tell me there's a reason
Why I'm seeing what I do
Tell me there's a heaven
Where all those people go
Tell me they're all happy now
Papa tell me that it's so

So do I tell her that it's true
That there's a place for me and you
Where hungry children smile and say
We wouldn't have no other way
That every painful crack of bones
Is a step along the way
Every wrong done is a game plan
To that great and joyful day

And I'm looking at the father and the son
And I'm looking at the mother and the daughter
And I'm watching them in tears of pain
And I'm watching them suffer
Don't tell that little girl
Tell me
Tell me there's a heaven
Tell me that it's true
Tell me there's a reason
Why I'm seeing what I do

Tell me there's a heaven
Where all those people go
Tell me they're all happy now
Papa tell me that it's so

Simple plan, Welcome to my life
"No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life"

Chris Rea - On the Beach

Between the eyes of love I call your name
Behind those guarded walls I used to go
Upon a summer wind there's a certain melody
Takes me back to the place that I know
On the beach
Yeah Yeah
Down on the beach
Yeah

The secrets of the summer I will keep
The sands of time will blow a mystery
No one but you and I
Underneath that moonlit sky
Take me back to the place that I know
On the beach
Yeah Yeah
Oh, down on the beach
Yeah, down on the beach
On the beach
Yeah Yeah

Forever in my dreams my heart will be
Hanging on to this sweet memory
A day of strange desire
And a night that burned like fire
Take me back to the place that I know
On the beach
Yeah Yeah
Oh, down on the beach
Yeah, down on the beach
On the beach
Yeah Yeah

Memories of Brian died 2005

Bleeder, Emiliana Torrini

Lay thee down
Park your head upon my pillow
Naked trees they dress in crows
Greet the horses coming nearer
Through the rains that bring you down

You're a man humble as a hope
Lay with me
Closer to my body

When things go wrong
You find you're a bleeder

You're a man humble as a hope
Lay with me
Closer to my body

When things go wrong
You find you're a bleeder

Mm when things go wrong
You find you're a believer

The Lake, Anthony and the Johnsons
poem by Edgar Allen Poe
In youth's spring, it was my lot
To haunt of the wide earth a spot
To which I could not love the less;
So lovely was the loneliness
Of a wild lake, with black rock bound.
And the tall trees that tower'd around.
But when the night had thrown her pall
Upon that spot-- as upon all,
And the wind would pass me by
In its stilly melody,
My infant spirit would awake
To the terror of the lone lake.
Yet that terror was not fright--
But a tremulous delight,
And a feeling undefin'd,
Springing from a darken'd mind.
Death was in that poison'd wave
And in its gulf a fitting grave
For him who thence could solace bring
To his dark imagining;
Whose wild'ring though could even make
An Eden of that dim lake.

Linkin Park, Easier to run.
"Something has been taken from deep inside of me,
A secret I've kept locked away, no one can ever see
Wounds so deep they never heal
They never go away, like moving pictures in my head for years and years
They've played"

Lyin Eyes - Eagles

City girls just seem to find out early
How to open doors with just a smile
A rich old man
And she won't have to worry
She'll dress up all in lace and go in style

Late at night a big old house gets lonely
I guess ev'ry form of refuge has its price
And it breaks her heart to think her love is
Only given to a man with hands as cold as ice

So she tells him she must go out for the evening
To comfort an old friend who's feelin' down
But he knows where she's goin' as she's leavin'
She is headed for the cheatin' side of town

You can't hide your lyin' eyes
And your smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide your lyin eyes

On the other side of town a boy is waiting
with fiery eyes and dreams no one could steal
She drives on through the nice anticipating
'Cause he makes her feel the way she used to feel

She rushes to his arms,
They fall together
She whispers that it's only for awhile
She swears that soon she'll be comin' back forever
She pulls away and leaves him with a smile

You can't hide your lyin' eyes
And your smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide you lyin' eyes

She gets up and pours herself a strong one
And stares out at the stars up in the sky
Another night, it's gonna be a long one
She draws the shade and hangs her head to cry

She wonders how it ever got this crazy
She thinks about a boy she knew in school
Did she get tired or did she just get lazy?
She's so far gone she feels just like a fool

My, oh my, you sure know how to arrange things
You set it up so well, so carefully
Ain't it funny how your new life didn't change things
You're still the same old girl you used to be

You can't hide your lyin eyes
And your smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes
There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes
Honey, you can't hide your lyin' eyes

Wasted Time - Eagles

Well baby, there you stand
With your little head, down in your hand
Oh, my god, you can't believe it's happening
Again
Your baby's gone, and you're all alone
And it looks like the end.

And you're back out on the street.
And you're tryin' to remember.
How will you start it over?
You don't know what became.
You don't care much for a stranger's touch,
But you can't hold your man.

You never thought you'd be alone this far
Down the line
And I know what's been on your mind
You're afraid it's all been wasted time

The autumn leaves have got you thinking
About the first time that you fell
You didn't love the boy too much, no, no
You just loved the boy to well, farewell
So you live from day to day, and you dream
About tomorrow, oh.
And the hours go by like minutes
And the shadows come to stay
So you take a little something to
Make them go away
And I could have done so many things, baby
If I could only stop my mind from wondrin' what
I left behind and from worrying 'bout this wasted time

Ooh, another love has come and gone
Ooh, and the years keep rushing on
I remember what you told me before you went out on your own:
'sometimes to keep it together, we got to leave it alone.
So you can get on with your search, baby, and I can
Get on with mine
And maybe someday we will find , that it wasn't really
Wasted time
Mm,hm
Oh hoo, ooh, ohh,
Ooh,ooh, mm

Broken Girl- By Matthew West
Look what he's done to you It isn't fair
Your light was bright and new But he didn't care
He took the heart of a little girl
And made it grow up too fast

Now words like "innocence"
Don't mean a thing You hear the music play
But you can't sing
Those pictures in your mind
Keep you locked up inside your past

This is a song for the broken girl
The one pushed aside by the cold, cold world
You are Hear me when I say
You're not the worthless they made you feel
There is a Love they can never steal away
And you don't have to stay the broken girl

Those damaged goods you see
In your reflection
Love sees them differently
Love sees perfection
A beautiful display Of healing on the way tonight
Tonight

This is a song for the broken girl
The one pushed aside by the cold, cold world
You are Hear me when I say
You're not the worthless they made you feel
There is a Love they can never steal away
And you don't have to stay the broken girl

Let your tears touch to the ground
Lay your shattered pieces down
And be amazed by how
Grace can take a broken girl
And put her back together again

This is a song for the broken girl
The one pushed aside by the cold, cold world
You are Hear me when I say
You're not the worthless they made you feel

There is a Love they can never steal away
And you don't have to stay the broken girl
You don't have to stay the broken girl
