Apparently H.M. Coastguard monitor the internet for sites that mention the organisation.

Which means somebody at HQ found my initial post on here and told the head-shed who passed it down the line, resulting in an extremely awkward conversation this afternoon.

I've never been so embarrassed in my life.

I don't feel I can safely post here anymore.

I'm sorry for bringing 'spies' into your midst as well.

Stuff like that baffles me. That is not done here in Germany, and I am glad it is like that. I am sorry it's reality in your country.

I'm also sorry for you having had that conversation. I hope you know that nothing can change that doing what you have done, helping yourself by posting here, is a good thing!

With regard to posting: there is a new feature being set up that will allow anonymous posting (also for non-premium members). Maybe that can be an option for you?!

You didn't bring them in, they took the decision and acted upon it. There's nothing wrong with you posting here. It is a very open forum, too. All who are here know this. Don't worry too much, if you can.

I just feel completely humiliated. A lot of what was in that post was very personal and I don't want my colleagues to know that I'm losing it.

I can imagine... and I'm sorry I can't do anything so you can feel less humiliated. Do you have someone you could talk to in real life? Maybe that could help you a bit?

Not really, apart from the doc I'm due to meet next month. Thing is I'm not the kind of person who has problems (as far as everyone else knows) and having them find out is about the worst thing that could happen.
