Hello Everyone,

I am an educated early-40's gay man and was sexually and physically abused, as a young child, by my peers and female family members. A traumatic event at my work would lead to my being diagnosed with PTSD over two years ago.

I was threatened to be killed at work and not supported by my supervisor. After my diagnosis, I got better and went back to work, only to be discriminated against on many levels, and fired my first day back on the job.

Basically, my employer admits many things of which I've made mention. I am in a bitter Civil Lawsuit, visit a therapist nearly weekly, and reluctantly take medication.

This all occurred after my having nothing but stellar reviews. It has nothing to do with my job performance.

Kindest regards,
YogiBear

Hi YogiBear,

Welcome to the forum - I'm sure you'll find it useful.

I'm very sorry to hear about what you have been through - I hope that you find yourself supported here :)

I am in a bitter Civil Lawsuit

I am very sorry for what has/is occurring. Civil lawsuits can be very difficult. Not impossible!
Courts no matter what the circumstances need clear facts. If you can keep the emotional level separate
from the legal issues it will be in your best interest. Do you also have an advocate?

Many are here, pour your heart out; and know that you are not alone. In this day and age it is vile what some people will do. Welcome to what I call the best place on the planet! Success in your journey and your
legal matters. Hugs if you accept them, Whitney

I have done a lot of thinking about keeping the emotional separate from the legal. My own therapist often struggles between the difference at times. Achieving it, well, I just need to be optimistic. I have had several attorneys (lawyers, barristers), given that this whole process has been quite protracted, and covered a good 3-4 other areas of the law.

I warmly thank you for welcoming me into this community. Life is indeed a journey: I am trying my best to follow this very philosophy.

As for hugs, I love 'em. Thank you for posting!

Kindest regards,
YogiBear
