It has already started. The christmas commercials started today. They are so annoying. I hate them. The sales have started. Last year there were riots and even a shooting and a pepper spray incident.

I wonder what it will be like this year. We still have to do our shopping. We plan to do stockings and fill them up with stocking stuffers.

I hope you have as a peaceful holidays as possible.

Gosh, I used to shop and be finished by the end of September as I just couldn't stand it but have a good friend who dragged me out the night the shops were open 24 hours a day or two before Christmas as she always had something else to buy. It was scarey coming home from shopping as the sun was coming up when you started at 7pm the night before.

These days the Christmas items are in our shops 4 -5 months before the even and its ridiculous! :wtf:

I was in the supermarket last night and they were playing Christmas Carols  I have to say I don't normally mind and I'm lucky in that Husband (Sufferer) loves Christmas and turns in to the world's biggest child :roflmao: so I'm normally having to stop him stock piling Chocolate Oranges and nuts by this time of year!

This year though it's all so up in the air it's just not funny!!! We have a moving out date of 10th December and no moving in date for the new house yet... So Gizmo, I will be hanging on to your hopes of a peaceful Christmas x

What you only started now. Count yourselves lucky. We have had the Christmas decorations in the stores and songs playing for weeks in Australia.

The only thing is this year it has bought a smile to my face as my 5 year old gets excited everytime we go to the shops pointing out all the Christmas trees and reindeer and Christmassy decorations. She just loves it.

I despise the commercialism of Christmas and if it weren't for the children's joy and happiness, I'd say we should abolish the holiday. However having said that, I must admit that I'm probably just bitter because there has been no Christmas tree, or presents, or family gatherings for many years. I usually end up sitting alone, cold and bored, while the television reruns the same movies over and over and over. Then, if I am really lucky someone will bring me a plate of leftovers to eat.

I hope that for once the Christmas holiday will bring family and friends together for a celebratory feast. Perhaps next year, I will sock a little money into a Christmas fund and orchestrate the celebration myself. That way I can have my grandsons, nieces, and nephews over to the house, because to me that is really what Christmas is all about anyway.

I love Christmas. THE BEST Christmas advert of all time has reappeared this year so it is officially Christmas. It is the Coca Cola, Holidays are Coming ad. The girls and I love it and we phone one another when it is on so the other can listen in - H rolls his eyes in disgust :hilarious:
