I know sufferers don't deserve PTSD but do supporters deserve the the brunt of symptoms?! I know the answer - just venting. I am strong but I've dealt with enough crap in my life - I shouldn't have to feel like an intruder in my own home. It's not fair!!! None of this. The illness consumes them and innocent others; its like a never ending cycle.

It's so hard when they are doing better for most of the time as you get used to that. When they then fall over it seems worse even though it is milder than before - it's like the equilibrium changes and you adapt but really its just a matter of time.... it doesn't go away... *sigh*

Vent away! :)

I wish I had helpful words for you, but you have probably heard them all. But I do hear what you are saying. I can see that is what my husband is dealing with now, I've been doing better, he got used to it and now I am not doing so well and it's hitting him hard and he doesn't know how to cope. It hurts becasue he wants me to tell him what to do and I can't handle all that or him for that that matter.

It really hurts our marriage when mental illness rips through. It SUCKS. I have to sit back and watch and try not to hurt those around me.

Sorry Nicolette. What have you been doing for you?

I don't think it's worse Nicolette, just different. In fact, I find it harder to watch someone you love suffer than to take it upon yourself (if you could). And the horrible reality of dealing with someone you love acting-out at you, because of the pain.

I was thinking.. it would be really handy if we could pop (LARGE) holes in the bottom of all our stress cups.. :)
