Three Weeks And Two Days Until Christmas; So Twenty Three Reasons I Am Looking Forward To Christmas.

Christmas Eve and Christmas morning for us have been transitioning. This will be our second year without any of our kids on Christmas Eve, so hubby and I are finding our own new traditions. Not having the kids is for a good reason, they have people in their lives that they love and are making new traditions of their own and need to balance more families and carve out time for themselves as couples, too. We have moved the traditional lasagna meal from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day which will be great and include more family as our son is engaged and will be married in the spring and our daughter has been living with her boyfriend for years.

Our daughter and her boyfriend will join us Christmas morning, probably bright and early - they are very enthusiastic people!

It is day 1 and tomorrow is christmas, thank goodness. As the last day, I must say I am looking forward to christmas being over. I'm not so fond of the holidays and this one was especially rough. Besides, the day after Christmas, I get to go see my son. Long, long drive, but in the end, it will be worth every minute of it!!!

@Russ thank you for starting this thread and pushing me to look for the good things no matter how bad I get.

@Britt.f7 thank you for sharing all the wonderful things you are looking forward to. I really looked forward to reading your traditions and giving me ideas to create my own.

@littlelostchild Thank you for your compassion and caring attitude. Believe me, it made a huge difference to me.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!!

@Ghostybear73 Tomorrow morning, Christmas, when you wake up, take a minute, close your eyes, and imagine getting a really big christmas hug from me.

Congratulations on sticking with the thread and finding things to look forward to.

Really, really enjoy your time with your son.

Blessings,
Russ

I looked forward to giving everyone their jammies for Christmas Eve, now everyone is taking their turn to shower so that they can wear their new jammies. :)

I am looking forward to having Brie for my Christmas dinner with apples and bread and wine.

I am thankful for all of you! Thank you for being you. Merry Christmas!

It is Christmas night and all the presents have been opened, the food has been eaten, the egg nog has been drunk, and in spite of coming down with a lousy cold, we had a really nice Christmas, and now I am enjoying some Christmas quiet.

Christmas turned out better then I thought. I had bought my boys a new office chair each, without them asking, and it turned out they were going to ask me for one for next year, because they thought it too late to ask for for this year. Then they fought over who was going to ask. Cracked me up. Both chairs are put together and looking nicely at their desks. My youngest has banned his cat from the basement so that he can't get to the chairs.

It was a nice calm Christmas. Only damper was my dad's text messaging me to tell me he was sorry, again, for not being able to afford to buy gifts for anyone other then the younger kids. Mine are 15 and 17. I don't mind, my boys don't mind, but it is distressing that my dad felt the need to remind me. I know that his business is struggling. Heck, we are struggling. He's given my kids nice Christmas's in the past. It is time for the other little kids to enjoy.
