@CraftyCath. Thank you lovely, it was lovely talking to you on the phone.
Update.
I went last Wed 13th for my pre op assessment. They took more blood, did an ECG, nasal swab, blood pressure, temp and all of the usual. Then I had to see the nurse. Everything was going so well until the nurse asked why I was having a day surgery pre op assessment as I would be an inpatient and needed an inpatient pre op assessment. WTF. She was very apologetic but basically it was a NHS stuff up and she wasn't even sure if my op date would be the same. I looked over her shoulder at a notice about not abusing NHS staff and took a couple of deep breaths. Anyway, she arranged for someone to contact me the next day. So I had wasted over 2 hours, driven 25 miles, paid £3 parking charge (yes, in my area we are charged for parking at the hospital) and who knows how much NHS ££££s wasted.
Thankfully, I was contacted the next day. I go for my new pre op assessment tomorrow and my op date is still the 3rd Sept.
