You folks inspire me - reading stories of how people are 'communicating' and connecting with their bodies is incredibly validating. I also believe that it is through connecting with the body and bringing the mind/body/soul/brain ... all that stuff... together, is the foundation for strong healing for many of us.

Ok, on to the topic, a 10k later today in -30c weather (with windchill).

How is it I can power walk up to 6km, but these petty little things wipe the floor with me!
@TheBubzilla - I had to laugh at that comment because I am the same way - It's mostly related to the muscle group you work out and the load the muscle group gets used to and the way your own body is built. For example if you do 50 push ups a day but then one day have to carry a huge bag of groceries a few blocks, you can be crazy sore even though your upper body is used to and efficient at basically pushing its own weight.

When you change the activity, secondary muscles come into play as well as parts of other muscles that don't get as frequently used when you are working them out. That's one of the principles of cross training because we never really get to directly work out some of the smaller but essential muscles like the rhomboids or gracilis or iliopsois and those are frequently the ones that wave their hands in the air and cause grief when we do an exercise or activity in which they haven't been targeted.

It's a good sign you feel that when doing your lunges and crunches though because it means you are targeting other muscles not as much used when you power walk. Good job @TheBubzilla on the lunges and crunches.

Got out of the house this morning, a huge accomplishment just leaving the house! Walked for ten minutes, balance ball and resistance bands, then some mindful yoga/stretching. Told to rest as much as I can until the spring. After bed ridden for so long its hard. I want to sprint!! Planning a walk on the beach later today and later tonight a 20 minute walk. Actually a lot of improved stamina, even at small doses each day.
