Journalling?

I have been writing in journals for so many years and it has really helped me to figure things out and to sort thru things and I now write better than I can speak. When I am done with one journal I simply throw it away and begin another. It has been invaluable to me. I also have a trauma diary here for help and support, but I do write more in the journals. My handwriting is crap. I used to write better and I am working on writing it down best as I can. It really helped me out so much.
 
I started to put my journal entry on my computer. I guess for me this is step one of being ready to share it. I am finding that in the first page or two I am feeling more and remembering more. I think it might be a good 2 step process for me to write it out and then add more details and edit when I type it out. Then I can add to it easily when I recall more details and such. Then when I am feeling it is a more complete story I will think about sharing it. I did find that by doing this I feel my walls are higher than they have been in the past few weeks. I also am finding that since I picked 1 of 3 separate traumas, I picked the one that holds the least loss but that was a catalyst for me as it was most likely the 2nd of my traumas. This is the one I felt most able to deal with first.

I do not want to read about the pain I have expressed on paper. For years I saved my journals and I would read through them and follow my growth process. Then it was a big black trash bag out to the trash for them. They were for my eyes only. Now I just throw them away one at a time and let go of all that I have expressed. I just start over with a new one. I keep stocked up on journals and pens so I always have one to write in.
 
@GG-love Yes journal ling with handwriting certainly helps. It is like you are trying to get help with what you have. Yes, talking with one another does help. It sure is way to get help. You can do journal with handwriting and you can ask for help in person.

I am sorry to respond this very late. I bookmark your thread, I have bookmarked so many threads I feel to respond. Just timing was not right that moment.

If you write your trauma diary you will receive more insights. You can continue handwriting journal, never give up that. It's very helpful for you I can see very clearly.

So pleased to read this thread. It also helped me in some unknown ways. Thank you for creating this.
