Feeling So Bad....a Song

Thank-you so very much @Ocean5 for sharing this, This song has just brought tears to my heart reminding me just how fragile and vulnerable teenagers especially are to homelessness. It has brought home to me my own days living on the streets, no where to shelter from the rain, no bed to sleep in at night. My time living on the streets may have been relativelly short but they were some of the scariest days of my life. I will never take for granted what I have now.I will always cherish the friends I have now. Thank-you again.

I always liked that song. One year, it must have been 9th grade chorus class, I had an assignment to create a piece of art that expressed the feeling of a song. I used this one. That was one dark, messed up picture. If I hadn't been in such a bass-ackward country school at the time I probably would have been referred to a child psychologist for that one.

Yea if I wouldn't been there for my mom and younger siblings. I would have been a runaway. But I had to try to protect them even when age 5 or 6.

That I can relate to. Lucky teachers realized I was just trying to deal with childhood (if you want to call it a childhood...) But small town people knew what was going on - yet people didn't step in. They let a child defend his family

"bought a ticket for a runaway train
like a madman laughing at the rain
little out of touch, little insane
it's just easier than dealing with the pain

Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there"
