Are you in therapy or is that an option? I have some medical trauma too. That, connected with probably some of the abuse, has really messed up my body and my connection to my body (eating disorder, addiction, chronic pain, etc). I find body or somatic psychotherapy (like Somatic Experiencing) to be helpful. Not sure what your options are where you are at. But for me resolving this stuff has taken a good amount of time, beginning to notice when I'm responding out of a trauma habit, and learning new ways to respond to feelings (emotions or body sensations or body memories). Slowly gaining control or power through this process of noticing and changing responses, so like "re-wiring" the nervous system activation, especially around triggers....and there are many triggers, I'm finding...so it's slow. If you can work with a therapist who specializes in trauma, that could be very helpful.
