My mom was good at these. Some made sense, some didn't until later, some never did at all.:
This happened not to long after my father died. Also, another thought...she had bad psorisis (sp?) too...when he died, it completely went away. If she and Dad had any marital stress...I never knew it. But, after he died and the psorisis cleared up...I kind of put the two together somehow. Interesting, huh?
Random thoughts from a sleepy mind.
HUGS to all,
I hope you like the thread...

That's a few of them...she was a good woman and I miss her terribly. Incidently, to those of you with agoraphobia (sp?) -- she suffered from it when I was in my late teens. She used to force herself to leave the house (I drove her) and go to stores and just walk around for an hour or two every day or out to eat, until she began to overcome it.
- A whistling woman and a crowing hen, always come to no good end. (This harkened back to her youth, a girl was supposed to act like a lady, and a lady doesn't whistle, a man does.)
- Don't put yourself down. There are plenty of other people in this world who will do it for you. Don't listen to them either.
- If it snows like meal, you'll get a great deal. (Not always true, but I've always enjoyed repeating that one when it snows.)
- You can do just about anything a man can do. Don't let anyone stop you from trying. (Somewhat of a contrast from the first one, don't you think?)
- Stand up straight, there's nothing on the ground except dirt. (This she would follow up with a gentle nudge between my shoulder blades. I've had complete strangers tell me that I have excellent posture. I work in a hospital, one volunteer even approached me once, thinking I might have been a doctor!)
