In June 2015 my husband shot himself while me and my daughter were in the home. He thankfully survived but not after dying numerous times in the operating room and in the ICU. I stayed by his side until he woke up a month later and I packed up my belongings and my childs belongings. I put them in storage and left the home the day his daughter brought him home from the hospital. I wanted to give him a new start and hopefully this would help him to be free from my constant disagreement with his pain pill addition, along with other addictions, which destroyed our marriage, his job, and our combined family.
Me and my daughter now stay in my friends unfinsinished basement while I try to obtain a home. I have filed for divorce and it will be final in two weeks. I have been asked out to dinner by numerous men, but I cannot stand the thought of it. I am so very numb inside. I am so afraid to even think about having feelings for someone. My great aunt passed away last week and I had absolutely no feelings about it whatsoever. This is so out of my character as I have always been the caregiving type and I cant even care for myself anymore. I forget basic hygiene routines often and my memory loss in general makes it hard for me to have a normal conversation. I cannot think of the correct words to use in sentences when I am trying to describe something or convey a message. I feel as if everything is in slow motion and I am constantly late. Is time the only healer of this feeling or does time make it worse
