How so, in relation to what I said? The statement is unclear to what part it's pointing at, or why saying they're separate mechanisms has any relevance to what I said.

The version of skepticism you described isn't skepticism. It's being close minded. Skepticism doesn't require 3.5 billion pieces of proof. Just one suffices if one is actually true.
