This will be my last post on this thread if this continues, because let's get back to outsider view of things, we have someone that asked a question about PTSD and instead of constructive notes they get an off topic fight. Thanks. This should be a beautiful and uplifting go to for anyone.

Because THIS was asked of me:

My daughter is not her autism. But its really useful to explain or describe symptoms.

I was stating that generalizing in ANY form is wrong and offensive!

I also stated that because autisim spectrum falls very broad to high functioning to that bad. For me to say that would be wrong and just as offensive.


Can anyone really answer the question asked because we have PTSD?

This is the supporter section, and it is a place to learn. The OP asked a question about isolation, which is a common symptom of PTSD.

Nobody said "all PTSD sufferers" do or don't do anything.

@lostforgottensoul you've made your opinion known.

Ok, ive isolated by moving, by pushing everyone away, by changing my address, ive gone to another State, ive gone to another town, ive gone to the railroad tracks, ive changed my number, ive quit jobs, ive left boyfriends, ive done everything asked in the OP.

@Slw4789 - In my experience, as the partner of a combat vet and the daughter of a combat vet, isolation can be anywhere from half an hour of grunt only responses to days of being physically gone with no communication. My advice is to let him be. If he comes back, he comes back.

How do you propose people communicate any meaningful information or idea without generalizing?

If I say I want chicken for dinner is that wrong and offensive because this particular meal should not be lumped together with every other evening meal? And this particular chicken is an individual who should not be referred to by its species?

You say "he seems to be isolating, im afraid he may move out. How do i support him so that he doesnt or do i just leave him alone" something to that extent. That is asking an answerable not so generalizing question.

Since "will they do this and that" is always a maybe, this cant be answered. This guy can go an hour without talking to moving to the woods for the rest of his natural life.
