@Junebug, exactly..!!!! I didn't have the words for it, but you are absolutely right !!!! I have no emotional attachment to the noise... I do not have much say so when the depression hits... kind of have to ride that one out... the anxiety, comes and goes.... have meds by try not to take them for the anxiety....

Well if the meds work @ladee that's ok too.

I ws just thinking, re: danger, abuse etc, it's recommended (emotional detachment). But our internal thoughts can be self-abusive/ deleterious.

For anxiety I say the same thing every morning (before I get out of bed).

If the cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques don't help, I use nutritional supplements or presc...
Nature is very calming! Too bad it's winter here (but 60 degrees today yay!) it's hard in the winter but the summer I live outside. Camp and fish and fires. :) I love water... And the stars. That's one good thing my father have me - unconditional curiosity in the universe.

@ssw are you on any medication currently? And is PTSD your only diagnosis?[/QUOTE...
PTSD isn't my diagnose. I'm diagnosed a manic depressant and bipolar. I dissociate badly though I'm not diagnosed. I take anti-depressants - celexa. It's really helped with mood swings but not anxiety. I'm tired of going to the doctor and them not listening to me for anxiety MEDS.

I appreciate your help. Mindfulness is a daily practice for me. :) my favorite book is "wherever you are, there you are" which is about
Mindfulness in every day life. It's a beautiful thing that had helped me before.

I used Ho'oponopono to interrupt repetitive, racing, ruminating thoughts that were getting in the way o...
Can you explain further?

Try grounding techniques!
Like what?

I believe a lot of zen masters start out with guided relaxtion - cd's, phone apps, etc. You may have to try a few to find one that works. Listening to endless whale calls is great, but it helps to have a voice telling you what you're supposed to be doing with your body and your head while the whale choir is going on in the background...

Relaxtion is a bit like meds - gotta do it every day to get the most out of it, so try scheduling it in somewhere.

Unless of course you have an issue with being hyponotised (yup, that's me) because the tone of voice and words are similar and can be a trigger, in which case...dang! I did meditation classes and yoga till I got to the point I could do it on my own, and some of the progressive muscle relaxation sessions you can find written out on the web:)

Diet and exercise are very important. I've detoxed from the anti-anxiety drugs, and that was really tough. I use a guided body scan when my mind races at bedtime. The one that works for me is; Mindfulness Meditation by Dr. Myrna Weiss DSW. It's a Guided Body Scan/Relaxation that takes about 22 minutes. The key is to stay focused on breathing. Lose focus and it won't work. I still see my T once a month. That keeps me grounded. No matter what, it takes effort.

Racing thoughts are a big indicator of being in a manic phase. I don't know if you need tips and tricks so much as you need to be on the right meds. Can you contact your psychiatrist? Or when do you see them next?
