New Here
13 years ago I was involved in a situation in which I saw a semi truck push a car off the highway into the supports of an underpass, it was at night and no one except me stopped to help. There was a father and his 4 year old son in the car. The father was trapped between the seat and steering wheel and the boy who was not wearing his seatbelt had flown into the windshield. Long story short the boy died in my arms as I was trying to give CPR and stop the bleeding, as the father was screaming at me to save his son and don't let him die.

I thought I had this all under control, I have not had any problems with my ptsd for years, but everything is now back to haunt me! The nightmares, rage, helplessness, ect are all back! I have seen my doctors, got new meds, and seen my therapist but it doesn't seem to be helping. I just don't know if I can get this back under control again, I don't know if I am strong enough anymore. Any thoughts, advice, or suggestions?

Hello, welcome...this brought tears to my eyes. I live with fear of something happening to my son. My PTSD was only diagnosed last year, but it is from things that have happened over the last 18 years. I've never been able to really face things. I thought if I just didn't think about it, it would go away. But it comes back, hits you like a brick wall. Good luck on your journey to finding peace.

I too have felt that I was doing better and then have had a trigger that sets off my PTSD. It is very normal for this to happen.

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you all so much, I know I can do this, it is just really hard sometimes. It really helps knowing that I am not the only one going through this.
