I recently had my Abilify dose increased by 5 MG. I'm having hot flashes where my face gets flushed and hot to the touch with no fever. Anyone out there ever experience this? Does it pass? I'm on day 1 of the new dose. Also I have a lot of energy.

I'm on Abilify but I do not have those symptoms. Though it would be hard to tell since that happens to me due to my autonomic system being messed up. How are the symptoms lately? I do not necessarily feel I have a lot of energy either, but that is part of my system being messed up too. I would like that symptom.

I had hot flashes those symptoms when I tried abilify, got very sweaty and hot. I honestly thought it was becasue maybe the drug was making my blood pressure spike?

It turns out what I was experiencing was withdrawal from two other medications done cold turkey under the advice of a nurse practitioner. Very dangerous. So it wasn't the Abilify causing the hot flashes in this case. It's now been raised by 10 MG (up to 15 MG) and there are no side effects other than being tired and dizzy. I think the dizziness is from reintroducing the medications I was withdrawing from. I see the Dr. on Tuesday to find out. Thanks for the responses.

Be careful on that high of a dose I took 15 mg and had hand tremors and it took awhile form them to go away after I stopped the meds. It can be permanent and can get a rare side effect called Tardal Dyskenesia I believe it was called.

Yep, I've got the flushing. Stumbled across this while searching it!! Lol I found research info that of 38,000+ ppl studied, 118 (0.24%) had flushing. 85% of those ppl had it for first 6 mos & then dropped to 18% for next 6 mos to a yr the stopped. So, it looks like if med is working well & u r willing to deal with it, it may go away after a yr.

I am not withdrawing from any other meds. Lol

Hey everyone, I just got represcribed abilify - 5 mg and started it last night after stopping latuda (10 mg) the night before. About not even an hour after taking it I got extremely hot and had to take off most of my clothes then got cold.. hot..cold hot. I also felt sick and today randomly threw up and i would deff say it’s either withdrawal of the latuda or just effects of adding the abilify again... anyone have any insight on this? I’m also taking it at night as I was reading night time is the best time to take this one... I used to take it in the morning when I was on it before along with an antidepressant and no problems that i remember.
