Abilify And Nervousness? Can't Stop Moving

Totally with the "hang in there" crowd, because Abilify was really really helpful to me. One problem I had? Could. Not. Sleep.

I wasn't able to add other stuff to fix the insomnia, so I had to come off it. Dang! Hopefully you get a better outcome:)

I do have the can't sleep part....but it's slooooowly improving. Last night, it was the nervousness and need to scratch my skin off that kept me awake.

@joeylittle

I was dosing at night before bed. But yesterday, I took the smaller dose paired with the Klonopin at dinner time. I can't take the Klonopin at bedtime, it gives me nightmares.

I'm a horrible, emotional mess this morning and I can't seem to settle down and not flip out. My husband is trying to come home early from work(normally works 4am-12:30pm)

You should check with your doctor, but you might want to move everything to the morning.

Abilify can cause drowsiness, but since that's clearly not your issue with it, morning might end up better in terms of your sleep improving.

I don't think I can do this, I need to give up...I feel like jumping off a bridge(I won't) the need to jump out of my skin is intense and I can't stand it.

I developed tardive dyskinesia on Abilify. Thankfully it was not permanent. Involuntary movements is a sign of this for me it was hand tremors. I am sure your doc talked with you about that side effect. I hope you start feeling better.

@jesse

Yes. We've been working closely to try and find a solution to the side effects. Things are getting better, slowly. She has allowed me to have control and move the dose around to what times might be best. And the freedom to increase or decrease the dosage based on what I feel. She just gave me a max dose that she would likely think we could see a difference. Should I make it past the side effects. I keep her on the loop via email with the current dosing I'm using and if it's still being paired with the Klonopin or not.

She's a greet psychiatrist, in my opinion.

I hope it helps you. It worked well for my depression was disappointed when I got the tremors because it gave me so much relief. ((((Hugs))))

TD effects aren't about just getting over the bubble (although docs want you to think this). Some may diminish, but others build over time and that's when you risk the effects becoming permanent. I'm glad you're actually consulting a doctor this time.

I hope the side effects wore off for you panda. For me I had to get off abilify a few years back.. whenever I think about abilify I get the shivers. I cold definitely relate to the wanting to scratch your skin off and jump off a bridge. It was one of the worst medications Id ever been on in terms of side effects and I was on it for nearly a year and the habits of shaking my leg and pacing around to try to ease the jumping out of my skin sensation took much longer to get out of after I had stopped taking abilify.
I really hope you've been able to find a dose that works for you or another medication that helps
