Usually when I tell him his behaviour scares me he either ridicules me or justifies it.

I have learnt that I have to leave him alone, alot. Not make a big(or small) deal out of anything. Then again I worry about enabling him and not standing up for myself sometimes.

If he doesn't care that he is regularly frightening and intimidating, you need to be very careful. Then he's gaslighting to make you feel like you're the problem. How is this loving? How is this OK?
