Nohe galindo

New Here
Hello all well let me start by saying my name is Nohe Galindo I currently live in El Paso, Tx. I served in U.S. Army as a 13F (Forward Observer) from Jan 1997-Jan 2005. I have been stationed at Ft. Campbell (3/320FA supported (B co. 2/187inf), Camp Casey (1/15FA supported 2/9inf) & Ft. Hood (4/42FA supported 3/66AR). I deployed to Iraq in Mar 2003-April 2004 in support of OIF1. Also was part of Operation Red Dawn And others (capture of Saddam Hussein). I was diagnosed with PTSD at 30% in 2008 as of 2014 I was bumped up to to 70% PTSD. here looking for answers and ways to fight existing claims that have worsened and new claims that are secondary to existing claims. Hope to find what i aim looking for.

I too live in the great state of Texas.

Welcome to the board. Pull up a chair and join in with some conversations. You'll read some good stories and meet great people going through similar journeys.

There's some smart folks here that can help you out. Just filed a NOD for my claim as well. Although I am satisfied with my ptsd rating it's other stuff that I am pushing back on. Good luck and welcome to the site.

I was at El Paso (Biggs not Bliss) but know the area well. And you have been through the obstacle course a few times I see.

Well, grab some of that coffee that's been sittin for days, and hang a knee somewhere. We will take care of you with what the VA cannot or won t, as long as it's legal.

Welcome. Share your knowledge. We got some too...............

Welcome brother, you've come to the right place, for your PTSD that is... Don't be discouraged, we have a few folks that know of which you speak.

You mentioned "fighting existing claims" I'm guessing now, but it sounds as if in order to grant 70% PTSD the faithful VA Rater had to lessen one or two of your other SC disabilities. That sucks but the VA does shit like that and gets away with it. I'm assuming that you have an engaged VSO and what is lacking is supporting evidence for your claims. If that is the case you have to stop FIGHTING and start supporting your claim. By that I mean outside Doctors, clinicians, family, friend and work associates.

Below are some of the better known Veteran sites on the grid that deal with claims and the dealing with the VA. Both are very good in my opinion and provide a whole different perspective on processing claims - the do's and don'ts

Look around here as there is a wealth of information on both issues - good luck!

(For what it is worth, I just received the 100% P&T after 8 years. That did not happen without some serious help from lawyers Dr.sand fellow vets.)

Sorry for such a late response y'all. Thank you for all the welcomes and support. I will try to jump on this site much more. I work for the railroad so I'm always away from home and when i do return home always at the VA for appts.

Good morning brothers/sisters, well it's been over a year since I've been on the site. Been really busy with work and family stuff. Well here's the update. So last year not long after I replied last, i was finally granted 100%P&T. It took awhile but got there. I did try going to a couple outside Dr's but didn't quite work out well. All of them looked at me with a lost face when requesting a nexus letter. Needless to say I just kept fighting. Sorry for not joining in the group in over a year

Glad to hear your stuff worked out. I was rated 90% within 100 days of retiring. Been waiting since January 2017 on a reply to my notice of disapproval. Not a squeak heard from the VA since other than trying to get me to shift to RAMP....
