@She Cat , do you have hypermobile joints? Are you (or were you) really flexible?

Wot Friday wrote is probably the main explanation, but if you are very flexible, you probably also have very stretchy blood vessels, and that results in more frequent Reynaud's, and would exacerbate what Friday suggested.

The stretchy tissue would also explain things like greater susceptibility to the detatched vitreous humour, stretch marks and frequent joint dislocations.

Yes, I get cold when I am anxious. For me, getting cold seems to go along with my body tightening/muscularly contracting and withdrawing when I am anxious; my circulation moves out of my limbs (part of the fear response). I compensate by wearing an extra pair of socks Fall through Spring, wearing seasonal appropriate scarves so I don't loose heat from my neck being exposed, and having gloves and hats in my car, in case I need them. And I also take a thyroid supplement.

While I am thinking about this, I do experience that so many things that help me reduce anxiety help me increase my circulation: breathing, exercise, anxiety medication, hot baths and showers, a heating pad-I keep by my bedside. And ask a nutrition store clerk, nutritionist, or search the web about B vitamins;and especially a form of Niacin/Niacinamide, can be helpful. Be careful, since Niacin and/or Niacinamide dosing needs to build gradually, since people can get rashes (me) or hot flashes, if they take the wrong form or take too large of dose.

All of these layers really help. I live in a damp climate, so the moisture makes the cold penetrating. And I've really noticed in the last two decades that businesses, restaurants, libraries, etc., all keep their temperatures colder than they use to, before energy prices increased to their current levels. "B, B, Burrrr!" Thinking about this makes me miss having my hat on while I am at the library writing this; couldn't find it this morning.
