Natural Disaster Anyone affected by harvey? checking in.

How close are you guys to the chemical plant that's started to have explosions in Crosby, TX? We're not even near Texas and our gas has shout up to 2.59 a gallon overnight, and even higher in some places, also with limited deliveries. So much devastation surrounding...it's hard not to become overwhelmed. Sending so many thoughts of safety to everyone.

I am about 90 miles from the plant... just one of many many things that are going wrong and adding to the misery and unknowns here.

Thanks to all of you who are supporting us.... my friend and I were talking today about how the flooding was so intense and yet so random.... no one knew when or if the water was coming up... we have a cold front coming in... so will help dry things up some and be so much cooler for all the people helping out.... it is massive y'all.... massive... and going to take a long long time for things to be normal again.... so deep appreciation to all of you supporting us down here.... much needed to know others are thinking of us.... gentle hugs to you all...

Does anyone know of organizations that I can send supplies to? I cannot donate money but I have extra clothes, non perishables, even tools (think like screw drivers and first aid kits) that I would love to send to help.

@Kerri - I had a link up on post #32/page three. But if you don't see anything there you might try a specific area or city's disaster relief or preparedness agency.

Rockport is so heavily damaged it may be just gone. Really sad.
