Sorry to hear that. I've had great support there, but I really only talked in the CPTSD forum. Have you tried just the forum for your diagnosis? I think you have the best answer though, in that just asking your T is best. Good luck!

ya i know the site, i am not bothered by it, i realize people here have trauma. just because i haven...

So, here's a couple of thoughts. First, it doesn't matter if you're "bothered" by the site being a forum for folks with PTSD and their supporters - that's just what it is...regardless of your feelings about it.

Second, many people have experienced trauma and suffer effects from it. PTSD is a different (and distinct) diagnosis. I have no doubt that you have suffered from your childhood trauma - and it's possible you might be diagnosed with PTSD in the future - but you won't get very far here trying to equate traumatic stress with PTSD. You may want to take a look at the PTSD diagnosis criteria - every person diagnosed with PTSD has been "exposed to: death, threatened death, actual or threatened serious injury, or actual or threatened sexual violence". If you equate any lesser trauma with this criterion, I can guarantee the response you'll get here will probably hurt your feelings.

Finally, as @Suzetig mentioned, because this is a PTSD forum, you will most likely get advice from a trauma frame of reference and that advice may not fit you. I'd like to add that, if you are not coming from a PTSD point-of-view, the advice you give others may come across as quite naive and unhelpful.

I agree that no one is asking you to leave - I'm certainly not - but you may want to think about what, exactly, it is you're trying to gain from your interactions here.

ya my bothered comment was about her saying things that people come from a point of view of trauma, rather than mine, i am not bothered by that, i find it interesting to read peoples stories and i do like to try to help.. however i am getting the feeling i am not welcome here either, so again, another forum i wont post on in the future. sorry

@DogLover33 I'm now wondering if the people you called "rude" on PsychCentral were in fact rude. You seem to be taking things too far. No one is asking you to leave, which was clearly stated. What IS happening is that you are being asked very specific questions about why you are on a PTSD board when you haven't been given that diagnosis. You are being challenged, not dismissed. That's why I suggested that you engage on a forum that is specific to your diagnosis. You might find that talking with people that are "in the same boat" as you will understand your struggles (I hate to say this word, but...) better. As @StellaBlue said, PTSD is very different from traumatic stress. This DOES NOT minimize your stress or your anxiety. Those are very real things and very hard things to deal with. They are just different.
