what's new about 2024 other than the fact that it's just a number

Maybe it's just me, but I think well.. just because it's a new year, that doesn't make it all okay

I haven't given a shit about new year for a long time. So long as I'm safe, warm with music and food then I'm happy being on my own. I wouldn't turn down being social and with others in the future but I'm content and peaceful on my own.

it’s what you make it. It‘s another day. And another day always has possibilities in it, or challenges to manage.
staving off the pressure that a new year should be this or that, helps loads.

the constructs of holidays being somehow more than just another day has escaped me. Especially after covid and lockdown, the realization that other than sun up and sun down and seasons following seasons there is no symbolic waypoint on our passage through time of any real consequence. Unless we put value on a particular day, it really doesnt have anything worth getting your head in a bad spot over.
I find it is easy to say a holiday is just another day because…. it is.
