I know there is another thread that has exercise as a part of a larger challenge, but I'm looking for buddies to support one another in our exercise goals.

I want to start the couch to 5K program (and then hopefully on to 10K).

Does anyone else want to join so that we can support one another in our goals? (They don't have to be the same goals----I'm not forcing anyone to run a 5k!)

I'm hoping to start my program within the next few days.

Everyone is welcome!

I'm in. Have spent too much time in a chair recently. Need to find my work out mode again and maybe even branch out and try some yoga. If you knew me, you would understand how totally yoga I am not! Lol. However, my T has encouraged me to try some classes as he thinks it could help me learn to meditate.

Rumors, I'm SO not yoga, either! It's been suggested to me though. Do you have yoga DVDs? Oh I just saw that you mentioned a class, never mind!

Does anyone know of any decent yoga DVDs? I'm more of a solo workout person!

And I just want to stress that this is for support for anything active. I know we're all at different activity levels, so I want you to engage in an activity that is along your level and interest.

I'm jogging because I'm interested in it, plus I have a nice neighborhood to jog in. The cost is low other than the initial purchase of clothes, which I was able to do with sales and coupons and credit card rewards and gift cards. Whew. And one of these days I'll be able to run with my sis!

And really, if you knew me, you'd prolly question my decision to jog! I've got a bit of weight to lose, but I'm excited that my lab will be my jogging partner.

I didn't mean chair in the wheelchair sense, either. I meant it as an inspiration that anyone can do yoga. I watch it remind myself to not give up.

Scared of lonely, As far as DVDs for yoga, you can really hurt yourself if the poses are done incorrectly. Would you feel safe in asking a yogi to come to your house for a few sessions? At least until you know how it it is supposed.to feel?

No SOL, I've never even tried it because it is so outside my comfort zone. I think I fear getting stuck and having to use the ever so lovely phrase, "help, I fallen and I can't get up!" However, I have found I am capable of doing a lot of things outside my comfort zone lately like posting on a PTSD forum about my f*ckeredupness so I am guessing that I will stumble through yoga in the same fashion I have stumbled through therapy. I may be banged up but I expect to survive! I wish you well on that journey too! I never thought about DVD's so I may try those before actually going to a public venue to embarrass myself! Thanks for the idea!

Olivia, thanks for the pep talk! Lol! I fear this man in the video is more coordinated than I am but I am going to give it a shot after I start working out some and get some flexibility back. I gotta tell you I am afraid it is going to be like a bull in a china shop though!!!

Good luck all! I think this is a great thread!
