Ask a foreigner

I don't know of any residential areas that put up loads of Xmas decorations especially. Some places like grand houses or farms or garden centres or whatnot put on a big show for people to visit.

People who live in Europe, do castles and cathedrals and other old buildings interest you or are they just so common to become boring?
Each one is different, and built in a different era so they are all unique. Each one is also in a different state of repair and can have hundreds, or in some cases thousands, of years of history behind them. So yes, they are common, but never boring.

Omg, I love a castle! Where we live in the countryside in the UK there are lots of National Trust and English Heritage buildings (both are organisations which preserve castles and old historical buildings). I love visiting them
And my other country I am from in mainland Europe is known for it's castles. There are two in my village alone.
So yes, I love a castle and never get bored by them!
The oldness, the history, the creakiness, I love all of that. Holds so much history. Which is humbling really.

I like em 🙂
P is totally bored by them, particularly anything religious.

I remember going to the local stately home as a kid, I always wanted so so much to be able to go into the kitchens, and be able to see how they were in the past.

I used to work with a Greek gentleman it was all "tourist stuff" to him.

I get it though. I live roughly 3 hours form Jasper National Park, but where we are? it's bald a$$ prairie. I had a guy setting up equipment at work and his stuff wasn't going to arrive in time so he had a free day and I went through about 6 options before - ever seen the Rocky mountains before was a thought......he did that day,
