I am always on guard when everyone is asleep, I keep getting the feeling im being followed by something and everytime I see myself in the mirror or the glas in the door that ill see someone like in those horror movies! God its freaking me out I have it for quite some time!

I feel on guard all the time (to bad we don't get paid) and being followed some of the time, but for me I just think, if anythings going to happen, I will be ready and put my "war face" on! I expect the worse but hope for the best! ;)
Hang in there! You are stronger then you feel!:)

Yeah we would be epic security, I think thats why I wanted to join the army so badly, because im always on guard!

well I have been less on guard lately when its light but I always get when its dark, god I watched too many horror movies!

I was denied to join any branch of the military and I watch to many CIA type movies so its only feeding into my alertness, I could of been a spy or something or maybe I should just pretend :O_o: and my friends will really find me "wierd" lol! Atleast they think some of the things I do are like "spy" stuff is cool. Huh... :D

I was well still am denied for the army for 3 years (well that was about 1 year ago) so 2 years :o, but I dont think ill join the army anymore. I think PTSD+ARMY=bad decision!

This symptom is called hypervigilance. It's normal for ptsd. In surviving the hostile environment, we had to be alert and aware of details in order to survive. Once we have survived the hostile situation and are safe, we are left with our hypervigilant habits. The specific details of our hypervigilance depend on the specific details of our hostile environment. Feelings related to hypervigilance will generally accompany intrusive thoughts and feelings passing through, making it very challenging to continue to function in our current situation, making us want to isolate.

Hypervigilance is a good thing to explore with your T

I keep the blinds drawn on all the windows and doors so I don't see reflections in them. And the one mirror not in the bathroom faces a wall. Keeps me from sneaking up on myself, and I can still see silhouettes of anyone outside if they're there.

Always. My front door has a tall narrow window next to it and if I sit in the wrong chair in the living room I can see the shadow of everyone who passes by (it has cheap stick on stained glass stuff on it so no one can actually see through the window). I tend to be jumpier during the day and more watchful at night, if that makes any sense. Strangers come and ring the bell during the day, so I'm always on guard for that. At night, well, that's when the bad things happen, so I monitor the windows more carefully. Hope that makes sense.
