I went back to work today.

I let the people who wanted to be nice to me be nice to me. I admitted that I was still anxious. I asked a colleague who does the same work for advice on how to cope with the demands of the job (which is a stressful occupation in general).

I explained "What is PTSD?" five times (and gave different explanations to different people). I caught up with two customers, and resolved a difficult problem.

And I'm taking some time to rest, even though there's exciting stuff I could be working on. And I'm going to rest tomorrow, just like my rehabilitation plan says I will.

Pretending that I didn't have a problem was easier emotionally, even though it didn't work over the long term.

Glad to hear you're sticking with your plan. I did the same in my practice. No one gets booked between 12-2. It is the only way I can make it through the day. I also take an afternoon off once a week.

I'm so happy for you @BlueOrange and really proud of you for sticking to your plan. It's so easy to try to do way too much as soon as we find we can do a little, and end up overexerting.

Congratulations on going back to work. Congratulations, too, on sticking to your rest plan. I wish I had rest time build into my schedule because it helps me so much when I get it. I hope things go well for you at work.
