Beauty Of Today
Images, thoughts and feelings push their way
Unwanted to the forefront of my mind.
More vivid, more frightening,
I am finding it hard to stay disconnected.
Looking at first through a smoky haze as if I’m watching a movie,
I now find myself in place of the actor I once only gazed at.
I do not like this role thrust upon me, I would have chosen a better
Scene than this had I any choice in the matter.
But this is the challenge, to audition for another part, incorporating
These scenes into the whole picture,
Watching transpire before my very eyes
The ashes of yesteryear rising up, and becoming the
Beauty of Today.
