I started reading a book the other day that I've been waiting for, its called, "Before the World Intruded" by Michele Rosenthal. Its the story of her post trauma survival and so far is pretty good because it's making me think about the way I'm looking at and managing my own recovery right now.

I've had so much going on since Christmas and it has taken its toll on me. I took time from the forum and I've escaped into my Kindle.

I've read so many nice fiction books just for the escapism from 'real' life.

the Biography of George Meuller

He's been my inspiration for many years Sheila. x

I've been reading the books KP gave me and I'm having such fun reading them.

KP gave me a copy of the forum read, 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.' If anyone wants this copy for free then please PC me with your address - UK only please. (Sorry, postage too expensive elsewhere).

I got bored yesterday and wanted to unplug, so I nearly read an entire Lee Childs novel just yesterday afternoon and into the evening. Now I have to finish off the last 30 pages today, as bed time caught me before finishing.

Looking forward to Feb's book though... that will be awesome. Will download it on 1st Feb.

I just finished reading the Biography of George Meuller (not sure if I spelled that right). He was the fellow who took care of all the orphans in England during the 1800s, to save them from the poor houses. His life was a real adventure, as he never asked anyone for a donation except God. He prayed a lot!

What a great sounding book. Since so may of us here have been orphaned in different ways, This book sounds like an amazingly good book for a Book Club suggestion.

I believe there were several biographies written about him, including one that is an autobiography. He wrote about writing it and publishing it, and was quoted in the biography written by another that I read. He's very famous in Christian circles, even though he's been gone for quite some time. His life is the example of being Christ-like that we'd all want to live up to, if only we could!

He's a real inspiration isn't he Sheila.

I can't remember which book I read about him but I was in my early twenties and he inspired me so much. I think anyone who reads about him, no mater if they have faith or not, would find his life inspirational.

I think I might try to find his book and re-read it.

My favourite book is Hind' s Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard. That book changed my entire life.

Have you read Hind's feet Sheila? It is allegorical and shows how someone so hurt and afraid can go on a journey of discovery, have their thoughts and behaviour challenged and come out through the struggles as a stronger person with a vision for their life.
