Hi there - I am an Alz/Dem caregiver for a narcissistic/alcoholic mother who has harmed me greatly during my life, but for whom I seem to live and die - it's unhealthy. I wanted to share a book or two that I have felt helpful as we, as caregivers, often get lost in the lives/turmoil of others so I thought you might be able to relate, find the books helpful.

Dead Link Removed, Nancy Johnston
Dead Link Removed, Cloud & Townsend
Dead Link Removed, Brene Brown

Just some references, there are so many books and tools out there for us to access to support ourselves. God bless you all for what you take on to take care of those you love. Just don't forget about yourself in the process. VB

There are also two very inspiring TED talks by Brene Brown on YouTube. They are called:

- Brene Brown: The power of vulnerability

- Brené Brown: Listening to shame

I was trying to link them, but the software seems to prevent that.

Thank you for the Boundaries book recommendation. Have recently realized this is something I need to work on and the book looks like a perfect fit. Have Gift of Imperfection, but don't believe I finished it, so another thanks for the nudge to pull it back out.
